Yesterday, I had my first meditation practice and it was transformative.

I felt calm and at peace afterwards.

Can't wait to continue on this journey of self-discovery. ✨

As Brad Werner says, sit down and shut up.

    (it’s a good book)

I'm glad meditation has been so good for you and I wish you continued success on your journey.

From a conventional perspective, there's plenty of evidence that meditation will help you become more calm and help address stress-related conditions. I find that if I wake up earlier than I intend to (aka, have insomnia), meditating at that time is the perfect way to treat it.

Spiritual teachers will also tell you that meditation is like gold. It will not only give you immediate benefits, but also clear your karma and help you make progress toward realization.

Compassion is an even higher spiritual practice than meditation, so if you both meditate and practice compassion, that's even better.

It’s always good to calm the mind and be centered….being elastic and having stretchable muscle groups helps reduce injuries in my view

I need to do more of this. I find it hard to clear the mind. I am always thinking about something.

I do yoga regularly and truly enjoy it. Meditation, my mind still wanders.

Even trying to meditate with a wandering mind is still meditation. It's still something beneficial, and you'll continue to make progress if you work at it.

If you're into guided meditations I've heard that the sites "headspace" and "insight timer" have some guided meditations there.

There's lots of styles of meditation, so I hope you'll find one that clicks with you.
