Maybe you won't like my opinion, but I think Yoko Ono is a great person. She made a lot for the world peace, and for John Lennon,of course, she makes great music...The one bad think that she has done is that she separated John and his first wife, but John takes that desicion alone,I think. And she is not the reason why beatles has separated-Paul and John were arguing a long time before Yoko meets him.She was his inspiration-a lot of songs from the album "Imagine" are devoted to her.And now, after his dead, she hasn't got a relationship, she stayed true to him even after his dead. What do you think?I hope that someone will agree with me Sorry for the terrible english
No offense meant, but to me, Yoko's signing is worse than a pack of starving wild dogs howling at the moon. Linda McCartney's voice was like Pavarotti, compared to Yoko's. But I will say that Yoko has always tried to make different, interesting music. To each his own! What do I know, I liked Country Dick Montana's voice.
Maybe, but I want just someone to say that she isn't such a bad person as the people think, that she isn't a manipulator or something like this
Neither John nor Yoko did much for world peace. She wasn't a bad person when he was alive, but in the years after his death she showed her true self. If she would've let old fights go and teamed up with Paul they would own the rights to all the Beatles songs, but no, Michael Jackson got them.. there's countless other things, but the last one that sticks out in my mind was how she sold John's name to Nike so they could produce the "John Lennon Peace Chuck." Nike, making a shoe from peace.. something just doesn't sound right about that. But I guess if you're a capitalist pig I can see why you'd like her as a person.
Hey,Hey, you don't know me!!!!!! I don't want to argue with you! You wan't change my opinion, but I just wanted to know why you don't like that person.I was hoping that you will tell me that peacefully. In vain.... And, after the dead of John Lennon, Yoko Ono organized a mourning day for him, and make all the people in London to keep silence for one minute.
That's no excuse for the rest of what she's done since his death. George W Bush had everyone in the world keep silence for a minute or so, in honor of the 9/11 victims.. does that excuse all his other actions and make him a good person? ahaha.. i just compared yoko with gwb.. go me. :sunglasse
I don't know all the life of Yoko Ono, but I think there is always a lot of good things to say about her. Thank you for saying your opinion
Life, I think that you are asking some good questions, thank you for your posts. Yes, Yoko has made some odd decisions but, I believe, that she is being strongly faulted by some because of a sense of strong attachment that people have to the Beatles and John. John has done quite a bit for world peace, for one, amoung other things, providing very important, albeit subtle in its power, focusing terminology about these ideals. Give Peace a Chance. Blessings to John, the Beatles and, yes, to Yoko and the kids. 23 .
With Michael Jackson getting the rights to their songs also, isn't that just spreading the music more? Regardless of whoever MJ is, and what he might have done, he's not a bad singer.. I can see some motive in her doing that. The Converse Peace Shoe is kinda.. ehh. yeah.. It's kinda odd.. Only a verrrry small percentage goes to "peace," but.. I suppose the thought was there. And, I highly doubt that Yoko broke up the Beatles... New time, new direction, whatever. It happened. I think people have gotta remember that she's just another person, and well, at the end of the day, Yoko wipes her own ass too(to be frank.. ) and everybody makes a mistake here and there, if in fact, she made any. I don't have anything against Yoko, I really enjoy her art, and I think people have been too harsh on her over the years.
That's a rude thing to say to the person who started this thread. You're some 18 year old wanna be hippy who is driving daddy's Escalade and shouting nonsense about "capitalists pigs". Tomorrow when I order a hamburger from you (while you're working at the drive thru) I might just flip a booger on you.
Yoko didnt have a great singing voice, but that was partially due to the fact that English was her second language...Listen to the live version of "Luck of the Irish" on "Acoustic", it aint bad... Yoko is an odd person though, on John Lennons "Lost Weekend" in which he recorded "Rock and Roll", Yoko thought that, err, it was like her secretary or something like that, maby thier maid had a crush on John and she thought John reciprocated, so she told them to date, and sent them off to L.A. but as Chuck/soulrebel said, she has done very little for world peace, sure maybe her and john raised awareness to issues and like, but it is like Live8 and the like, they arent ending world hunger with that, they are trying to raise peoples awareness to the situations in Africa... musicians get too much credit for the most part
thanks for your comments, it's a pleasure for me to see people who share their opinions in a normal way. Thanks for your support, natural23 and Mr. Slyman. It's true that Yoko Ono isn't perfect, but for me, she is not bad person
So Chuck is being extremely rude, but this is normal? Shit, just because some asshole agrees with you doesn't mean they're not still an asshole.
1)daddy aint got an escalade, i aint even got a license 2)i dont work at fast food. 3)im not a wannabe hippy, obviously.. didnt you read where I said that "John and Yoko didnt do much for world peace" ?
I was being sarcastic, as you were. Personally, I think Yoko is a dullard who never did anything but leech off her dead husband's legacy. Just a joke son!
What's in it for us, why do we write, who are these people to us ? Amidst the Joy and Horror, Peace. .
