More On The Car Issue.

Actually taking away someone's car if they are mentally handicapped used to be a thing with police. I was reading an article about it a while back dating back to around 1980. This man who the police thought was mentally handicapped hit a little boy pedestrian. But all the onlookers agreed it wasn't his fault. The little boy ran into oncoming traffic. Although he did fracture his skull. But the arriving officer assumed that the man must be mentally handicapped. And then made it his mission to take away his license. He had him retested for a license. Those retestings are so hard, probably many police would fail them. And I was reading online about them, they really don't prove anything. They are usually given to old people as a means to take away their licenses. But one old man I was reading, passed the test with flying colors and still had a tragic traffic accident. Because they don't really test any skill that is important for driving. In fact with that old man it missed some problem he was having and didn't predict he might have a crash. Also I was reading in that same article or maybe another. Sometimes when mentally handicapped people were involved in crashes that were clearly the other person's fault, the police and other driver would conspire together. So he wouldn't have to pay the extra insurance costs for being liable for the accident. They'd make a game of it, because some people with mental handicaps and other issues miss subtle social cues. And they don't realize when they are being deceived. Especially by the police of all people. But it was the police's dirty little secret for a while. That they thought certain groups like the mentally handicapped shouldn't be driving. And even if they had a valid license and a good record, they'd use their authority as police to take away their licenses. That man from 1980 actually wasn't mentally handicapped at all. He was actually at the border. And he had his legal status changed after that to be above the border. So people couldn't take away his rights so easily like that. But his case was interesting. He had a funny way of walking, also due to Cerebral Palsy and some other neurological problems. But in this country police sometimes think they are medical experts in addition to being judge, jury and executioner.
Like I said, I will never drop this subject. And that they are still doing this, and that they endangered my life and almost destroyed it with that nonsense. That and the other two talking points. That their mental abuse and that they led me to believe there was no hope was the only reason I ever contemplated suicide, or attempted it those two times in 1989 and 2004. And that they were doing all this to a poor defenseless man with Cerebral Palsy who could barely lift 50 pounds and was suffering from diabetes and neuropathy by then, though well-hidden. Because they were clearly wrong, there is a record of them all and no one would disagree with me on them. Disagree with me on them not only that I was in the right but that they were outrages, that all those police and first responders were involved in that. For over 20 years, and no one bothered to stop them. Not a fellow officer, not even their superiors. Who were obviously well involved if it had gotten to the point where they even picked out my new pharmacy for me. Until the guard got killed. But how was I supposed to go to my psychiatrist Dr. Chang in Westland? I don't even know how someone would take a bus out there. And I refused to even try. And how do take pet carriers with a bus? How do you take large bags of cat food and kitty litter, like I often have? Large bags of laundry, like I now have to carry? All they would tell me was that I should try it because it was fun, and they thought I could manage.
I'm still trying to figure out why people think I am so mentally handicapped. I still think I might be borderline. I don't know, Eric says my status is a secret too. But as soon as I saw people around that time, after 1988 IOW, I always tried to make sure they realized I was still fairly intelligent. I even recited some Shakespeare quotes I memorized for Chang at one point. And I shared with him an essay for a medical theory I had. I'm not a doctor, capable of researching or discovering something like that I know. But I just wanted to show him I was able to write things like that. Then around 2005 when the car nonsense began, Dr. Chang started treating me like I could barely read or write. Some people seem unsure if I can tie my shoes. Do I seem that way to people? In all the years I have been writing here, does it seem my intelligence was that low? Because I did have a valid license, good record and good insurance. But the police told me they would just feel better if someone with my intelligence level didn't drive. Making my life living torture like that for over 20 years like I said.
There's also issue of what I would do if I lost my feet or legs and was bound to a wheelchair. I might be able to drive somehow. But how do people like that shop? Carrying large bags of groceries and heavy bags kitty litter? I could get some of my groceries delivered by Amazon. But as I discussed with my financial consultant, that's very expensive. And really only best for food emergencies and things like snow storms.
But that is where things stand. And no one feels responsible, no one wants to help me, everyone is abandoning me because I dared to complain. But I don't agree with that and I am not going to let that stand. I think all the people responsible for getting to this point. An old man, crippled and with an uncertain medical future and alone. That they pay for all that stuff, make sure I always have what I need, which will always include a car. And make sure I have a good quality of life. Especially now that that is in danger and my life has been forever shortened and altered by them.
