A quotation from a posting above: "...With that being said I feel that there is a middle ground wherein unmarried citizens should be able to learn about the mechanics of sex and foreplay. I keep thinking of people who do not even know what male or female genitalia look like and how it functions...." I'm constantly amazed at how little the average Joe or Jane citizen knows about the sexual aspects of their own bodies. And this is not to even mention the use of such in interpersonal relations. For me, the occasional porn viewing consists of the sections called "homemade". These are just ordinary people doing ordinary things and are simply interesting to note the range of human behavior. Regarding the priests and nuns of the world: A study done in 2015 questioning two thousand males and females of broad backgrounds and ages, found that 2.5 to 3.5 percent of the respondents felt no sexual attraction to either gender. Essentially asexual. So, in fact, there are folks who fit into the religious celibate life without problems.
It's hard to discount the potential of porn to teach. However, remember porn is extremely male dominated and oriented, and can send the wrong message about sex. Not every woman loves it up the butt. The solution of course is diversity in porn producers. How do we get that though? Who knows? Maybe part of the solution is in homemade, grass roots porn, where the goal is not commercial at all.
A lot of old discarded or ignored posts.. but porn, like a lot of things, is subjective. Why people want to control shit just boggles my pea brain. If the pope has an objection to porn he should stop his predilection to it.
