In one episode of The Simpsons, Homer identified his favorite fictional character to be "God." Even a believer could find that funny. I enjoy the idea of a fictional character having a favorite fictional character of his own and, in this case, that favorite may be real. Layers of silliness...irreverent humor, but not spiritually perilous for believers, unless taken seriously. Homer Simpson may be most commonly known as a cartoon character, but there was a series of monthly comics published based on the animated series, so he is also a comic character. God characters appear in numerous comics, and there are a number of comics that deal specifically with religion and present a God character.
Indiana Jones Lt. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) in the movie "Heat" Pike Bishop (William Holden) in "The Wild Bunch" (1969)
Maggie from "Love and Rockets". Most people are in love with Hopey. But Maggie is a sweet heart and also highly capable. Very Cool character.
