Marijuana is a banned substance in China and is considered the same drug as heroin and methamphetamine.
Yup, I used to have this poster in my college dorm room. What would happen if you had this in dorm room in China?
There was no result. Because the poster was in a foreign language, not Chinese. Many Chinese people could not understand what it meant. Second, it was just a poster, not a real drug. The drugs that Chinese people are most familiar with are opium, heroin, methamphetamine, and poppy. As for marijuana, if it is well disguised in China, it can be pretended to be other green plants
Marijuana is a banned substance by the federal government in the U.S. also. It's a schedule one drug, same as opium, heroin, fentanyl, MDMA, LSD, psilocybin, etc. Possession of any amount of marijuana can get you one year in a federal prison and a thousand dollar fine...for a first conviction. Second conviction, up to 2 years in jail (15 days mandatory) and up to $2,500 in fines. Third, 3 years in jail, with a mandatory minimum of 90 days, and up to $5,000 in fines. Possession of less than fifty plants, (as in one plant) up to five years in jail and up to $250,000 in fines. And it goes up from there.
However, on the Chinese Internet, it is widely rumored that the United States has already allowed the open sale of marijuana. The story of boxing champion Mike Tyson and marijuana is also very well known in China.
Not a rumor. It's the law in over 30 states. You can purchase cannabis over the counter if you're over 18. Some states require a doctor to recommend or prescribe (medical marijuana). Here in California you can grow 6 plants. See our states make these laws not the Feds. I was just at an outdoor classical concert where cannabis wasn't just allowed, but encouraged with open sales. Classicann. The average age of those in attendance was probably 65.
But the problem is the feds can still bust you, state law or not, for a federal offense. My wife has a medical med card but she was told to not leave the state with any on her as she can be busted for violating interstate commerce laws even if she travels with it to to a legal state. And the feds can bust you anytime they want even in a legal a state. So the feds lack the resources to prosecute everyone, but if Trump doesn't like you..........
Yeah, crossing state lines with weed a bad idea. I’m in Washington and it’s also legal in Oregon and BC Canada but you still aren’t allowed to transport it. Just buy it at your destination and you will be fine.
