hmm odd i have my spetum at a 6 gauge and it didnt hurt at all..most painful for me was the vertical labret...that tender lip skin is hell to get...
okay depending on the gauge you should just be able to take the ball off and no one would really notice you have it pierced

Just wanted to share with everyone i just got my labret pierced at a 10 gauge and my eyebrow at a 16...to add to my nostril piercing, my 6 gauge...
gauging your ears does not hurt that bad really..although i did mine from a 20 gauge to a 10 to a 6 to a 0 to 00...still i didnt find it to be too bad
