One problem that people with certain physical and mental issues and disabilities, is acceptance by the public. But not just acceptance by the public, but really how much others will tolerate it when they treat certain groups differently, I think. I was even reading somewhere, about 20 years ago I think, that some libertarians in my country think that it should be legal to discriminate against whatever person or group you wish. They say they don't condone that behavior, they just think that's a personal choice. Fortunately few people think that anymore, and I know I never have. There are some groups, at least in my country, that have a much further way to go for full equal rights. Just speaking generally on that, in most place in the US there are no state statutes protecting gays and LGBTQ's. That's strange, because most Americans even support things like gay marriage now. But when antidiscrimination laws are proposed to protect those groups, Republicans block it everyway they can. But anyways, on another message board I brought up the topic of people who have deformities, either due to an accident or birth. I even asked online then if discrimination should be allowed with those groups. Some people said yes, some said no. And at least one person said yes it should be allowed, but he still personally thought that was wrong. I know in 2003 during the war in Iraq, J.R. Martinez sustained severe burns to over 34 percent of his body. Then he became an actor, author and motivational speaker for burn-survivor victims. If you remember, he much of his face was disfigured by burns. I know even when I was very young, some people still thought discrimination should be legal. But people like J.R. Martinez bring up an interesting dilemma. His appearance was upsetting to some people. And if he distressed some people or if he ate in a place like a restaurant, that could bring up some unique issues. I also know that some people needed then, and some still need now, to be desensitized to certain people and to just being around those people. Maybe they don't even know they are the ones with the problem.
