I just talked to the vet's office on the phone about my beloved kitty Snowball. I told her she seems to be getting more and more fatigued and lethargic. But I will try to make her as comfortable as possible in the meantime giving her water and a little food. But we talked briefly about animal emergency centers in Michigan. And as we talked the receptionist revealed something interesting. Animal emergency centers still exist in Michigan. You know they're great if you have an animal life and death situation and they are open 24 hours a day. But she told me something troubling as we talked. They don't allow animal emergency ambulances in Michigan anymore. That's what she said. You used to see them from time to time. If an animal was hit by a car or something like that you could call one. And they knew how to deal with those situations. Fear, shock, medical support. All the things that human ambulances can do. I remember they had flashing yellow lights on top. So they couldn't go thru red lights like police and human ambulances. But they were still literally a lifesaver. This is a call to action. If you live in Michigan ask your representative why animal emergency ambulances aren't allowed anymore. And then tell them you want to bring them back. Same thing about the state where you live in. Animals deserve love and respect too you know.
Crazy. I’m in Washington but I’ve never heard of animal ambulances, we have 24/7 emergency vets ( I paid them a bunch of money two years ago lol) . I hope I never find out what a doggo ambulance ride costs Anyway, I hope your little buddy is doing better.
