China proposes new global AI cooperation organisation The Chinese obviously want to share their advances in AI, with those more deserving countries who, of course, all oppose Wall Street running everything. Eventually, they might even do the same for medicine and other disciplines, simply to stomp Wall Street into the dirt, by taking a more open-source approach to high tech, on a massive scale. If I had to guess, the Chinese want to pull the rug out from under the US economy, just as the US is intent on collapsing their economy. Note that Donald Duck and all the oligopolies recently solicited a trillion dollars from the UAE. Not everybody has that kind of cash to throw around for the newest missile guidance system or whatever, and many could not care less about whether China or the US rules the world. They need a competitive edge, or they're dead. The faster it becomes to move goods and information around, the faster all the competition kills them all.
Well if sharing their advances means "here take and develop this code" as opposed to sharing theoretical knowledge and practical applications, I would be very leery. The US doesn't trust Chinese tech, for good reason. Spyware is included in almost everything now. US does it too.
Microsoft and Google have yet to prove they can prevent hackers from hacking into their own damn computers, much less ours, making Chinese tech seem more reasonable. When desperate Japanese engineers invented fuzzy logic, academics ignored them for twenty years, only to discover the Chinese had been developing it all along. Now, they have a much larger marketplace for AI, including advanced robots. Donald Duck getting everyone to pony up trillions for AI was a last ditch effort to dominate the high tech market. Its WWIII and both the US and British navies are in sad need of modernization. The West practically handed China the world on a platter, then rolled over and played dead, choosing to censor half of reality instead, and elect Donald Duck emperor of the World!
