China's richest man buying water supply of New Hampshire town sparks alarm This is a humorous example of what the Chinese having been doing all over the US, pushing just as hard as they can to see just how much people will put up with. What this article doesn't talk about, is how the great lakes area had to deal with the same issue, of manufacturers wanting to set up plants there, so they could export all the free water they could get. China is particularly sensitive about food and water, and owns enough of our agricultural land to ease their minds, and sales like this help to discourage the two engaging in all out war. US companies attempted to do the same in Chile, I believe, first selling them their own water in bottles, then jacking up the price. Of course, Chile has a proud Latin tradition, of kicking ass in such cases, and threw the bums out of the country. Americans are more likely to write their congressman a letter.
