Ok. I bought some corduroy pants with patchwork panels or whatever. And i washed them and right in the crotch it's become a little discolored. What can cause corduroy to discolor? And I assume there's no way to fix it, right?
Wear in the crotch can cause cord to become discolored..also if somebody dyed it and perhaps they dye didn't all wash out. There really is no way to fix that other than re-dye the pants..? Sorry, I was not much help.....
isnt there something about like... how the hell do i phrase this!? okay, there are lines in courdoroy, right? well if you make the lines run horizontally, they will look different (color-wise) then if you ran the lines vertical. wait, i might be wrong.... it might be like one side of the courdoroy, and the other side. wow, i just made a total ass of myself! oh well, mucho love to all, right?
Well, I find markers, paint, hot and cold weather, hot water, pens, pencils, dirt, mayonaise, mustard, oil, grime... really a whole variety of things can discolor me.
bleach is the most likely culprit. I swear every purple towel I have ever owned got bleach residue on it (makes a nasty pink.ick) if it is in the wales (the ridges---you have a new word-cords are sold in wide and regular wale), if they are rayon or cotton they will take dye. soak the pants in soda ash water and use a sponge paint brush to apply dye to the discolored area.
WALES!!! thats what it is! man, mama... thank you, that has been bugging me!! i just couldnt remember it!
