i have read several articles about the compatibility. none of them really seem to match? Earth + Fire = Lava This is an unusual combination of energies. Your ruling planets, Sun and Venus, are rather different: earth and fire, after all, are not generally too comfortable with each other (in terms of planetary friendliness). However, there is an obvious and immediate attraction between you. This combination can be hot, as lava implies! There’s a natural magnetism, with a hunk of passion thrown in for good measure. Taurus won’t mind taking the back seat, in a social sense, to the right kind of Leo. This is great for the partnership, because Leo’s warmth, vitality and showmanship need a large stage to perform on. If you can let them be the star of the show, your relationship will work remarkably well. And you’ll be quite happy to let Leo take the spotlight as long as you get some recognition and return on your emotional investment. The relationship has to be a two-way street, so Leo needs to remember not to get too-self absorbed. If the affection you are getting winds down to a slow drip, you’ll be out of there in a blink of an eye. Leo has a protective element, as we see in nature. The lion is thoroughly committed to providing for his pride, and this is equally true for people born under the sign of Leo. You’ll be drawn to their loyalty, and you’ll feel sure that Leo will give you the security you need. On the physical side, Leo brings out your sexual desires. For a while, this can take over, and you may feel that your emotional satisfaction has been thrown to the winds. Try to move slowly if you’ve just met an overpowering Leo, and are in danger of being swept off your feet. If you can take things a step at a time and balance this pure physical pleasure-seeking with practical and nurturing behaviour, this Taurus–Leo relationship could well be one that will last. Leos born between 23 July and 4 August are excellent partners for you. You’ll find common ground in your desire to make a safe haven for yourselves and your family. This Leo will protect and nurture you. In return, you can support them in their crusade to conquer the world. Leos born between 15 August and 23 August are also well suited to you as life partners. Mars rules them, which adds more passion to the combination. One thing, though — you could find yourself giving a lot more than you receive with them. Set the boundaries at the start. Relationships between Taurus girls and Leo boys rarely work out in the long run. Your signs are often drawn to each other physically, and things can work on that level for a short while. You’ll feel bad, though, when he abandons you for the spotlight that he craves. If it’s a choice between being with you and being at the center of the excitement, he’ll choose the excitement. Leo boys also need a lot of attention and compliments, and you’ll get tired of stroking his ego when you’re not getting the same from him in return. This match is not likely to last. You're two very different beasts…and in order to make this relationship work, you've both gotta be flexible. Taurus is straightforward and to the point, and Mr. Leo is pretty used to getting his way. If you can agree to disagree, this can be a satisfying—and enlightening—love match.
Venus isn't the earth element. She's water. The elements go this way: Fire - hot and dry Water - cold and moist Earth - cold and dry Air - hot and moist The traditional 7 planets go this way: Saturn - earth Jupiter - air Mars - fire Sun - fire Venus - water Mercury - earth, though the element is altered according to sign Moon - water All of the feminine planets are water In traditional science, extreme hot or cold is hostile for growth (well I suppose this is still true). Thus: The two malefic planets have extremes - Saturn has extreme cold, and Mars has extreme heat. The Sun and Moon are excepted from this since the Sun is giver of life, and the Moon administers the will of the stars. The two benefic planets, Jupiter and Venus, have moderate heat and cold. Thus, even though Jupiter and Mars both have heat, Mars' is more extreme and destroys life. Saturn and Venus both have cold, but Saturn is more extreme.
Some give Venus for Air, some for Earth, classical astrology gives it Water. I personally don't think it is very useful to associate inner planets with elements, as they are rather functional in nature. If I were to assign it, I would give Venus to both earth (Taurus) and Air (Libra), and same with Mercury. Regarding Taurus & Leo, there are often a lot of ego issues there. Leo can be annoyingly vain to Taurus, although Taurus likes exciting people like Leos and thus this relationship is not uncommon.
