Hey everyone, I was hoping someone could help me with my little problem here. I've read that a good, natural way to get rid of genital warts is to apply apple cider vinegar (ACV) directly to the spots. The problem was, I could never read any directions which said for how long. I've read an hour at a time, or I've read overnight...

Well I tried to do it an hour at a time, but that didn't seem to work too well. Then I tried it overnight, and I woke up the next morning and thought my unit was about to fall off! Clearly it was too long because all the skin died and the entire thing scabbed over and a week later it's just about all healed up - but the warts are still there, arg!!

So, I was wondering, what kind of length do you apply to cider vinegar to the warts? Since my over-the-top dosage was too much, I'm guessing it needs to be applied more frequently for shorter periods of time. Could you guys help me out? Thanks:cheers2:

Talk to your doctor, genital warts is nothing to fool around with. Your doctor may be able to suggest non medical remedies.

I don't trust doctors. All they will tell me is that I need to continue having the warts frozen off, which obviously doesn't work. Could anyone else help me out??

Genital warts can't be frozzen off. You have them for life. You NEED to be on medication for it or you can have constant out breaks and you WILL infect your partner, you need to be on MEDS.

Genital warts caused by the herpes simplex is entirely incurable, your doctor can freeze off the visible wart, which will reduce pain, spreading, and the likelyhood of transmission to others but will not cure it (to be honest i didn't know they froze it off, i only thought they used topical creams) . Likewise neither will apple cider vinegar be able to cure it.

If you want your genital warts to go away, use meds and have faith in a doctors ability to provide relief as opposed to hockey remedies you read on the internet which make your dick feel like its gonna fall off.

First off this is wrong, genital warts can be frozen off ...its called Cyrotherapy and uses liquid nitrogen to "freeze them off"...However before resulting to that kind of treatment a doctor will generally prescribe a patient applied cream - either Aladra or Condylox usually. If the warts do not go away then your doctor will move on to Cyrotherapy. If that does not work, surgical removal may be required (ouch!) and is done by either tangential scissor excision, shave excision, curettage or electrosurgery.

And secondly to the person that said that Genital Warts is caused by the Herpes virus.... WRONG... Genital warts is caused by a strain of HPV (the human papilloma virus) and while the HPV virus never leaves your system, once your visible warts are treated and disappear it is still possible to have future outbreaks. Some people never have another outbreak again. It depends on the person.

But yes, if you are infected with the strain of HPV that causes genital warts (or any strain of HPV for that matter) it is necessary to tell current and future sexual partners and make sure to be careful to avoid spreading. Do not have sex while having an outbreak of genital warts.

Many genital warts can be removed without them returning. Not all genital warts are HPV related.

Many years ago I had 4 or 5 removed by a doctor, but a few months later a couple returned. I snipped them with cuticle scissors … very little pain …. little blood … and they haven’t returned in the more than 50 years since.

Genital warts are detected by using a vinegar soak, that's what they do in the STD clinics.

Hey my dear your wrong, look up BHT, its a persertive, it enters the lipid envelope of the virus and kills it dead, i know because my 100 venerial warts are gone in a month, and my viral load for C is undectable. this is amazing stuff and these freekin bastarb doctors will not even tell you about it.
Its cheap and once people get it , it will cost the pharmacuticles, the doctors, the hospitials billions of dollars, you take two caps a day. dont believe me
All this " rub this, bathe in that, stick this up there is quackery.

I worked in a Dermatologist office for a short time and going to the Dr for genital warts is a colossal waste of money. They'll be happy to prescribe you some Aldara cream or burn them off for a few hundred dollars. In 6 months you'll be in there again wasting more money because they are not going away forever that way. Do a google search for Tea Tree oil and genital warts. You'll basically apply a small amount diluted slightly with water and keep it on the wart while sleeping. Depending on the size, etc, they'll be gone in no time. Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't, but this method is way more effective and cheaper than going to a Dermatologist.
You also need to strengthen your immune system. Your immune system is what suppresses the virus and prevents outbreaks. So once you get rid of them, try to keep your immune system strong. It's surprising there is so much misinformation out there about genital warts (like the poster above saying it's herpes, get a clue man and don't spread incorrect info or hearsay) There are many many people with HPV, in fact, 1 out 4.

It's understandable if you don't want to see the doctor. Those who are infected with genital warts are hindered by embarrassment. Why don't you consider non-prescription treatments? There are a lot in the market right now. I know my friend swears by Wartscide. He said that after a few days of use, the warts changed color and fell off. Since he purchased it online, he didn't have to be embarrassed.

Wait a minute. His partners may also want to be honest with themselves, get tested and require testing prior.

If the information I`ve seen is true, 50-80% of people will contract some strain of HPV in their lives, and the numbers for herpes are similar. Most people infected by both are asymptomatic to mildly symptomatic.

I`m just picturing a scenario here, in which he is punished for being aware of his infection while his partner may be infected as well, but without symptoms.

We all know what risks we take when we have sex. If his future partners have been tested, and ask him for his tests as well, that`s cool.

But, I don`t think he owes that information to anyone who is not informed about themselves (which, are most people) and who are willing to have sex prior to testing. The nice thing to do, in his case, either way, is to ask his future partners to go to the clinic with him (without revealing anything).

Let the testing do the talking. He may find out he has less to worry about than someone who is asymptomatic or unaware of what he or she`s got.

I`ve also seen in multiple doctor`s sites that certain non-cancerous strains of HPV sometimes clear naturally. Though they are not sure whether they clear completely, or if they only clear enough that it cannot be detected by testing.

You must know that all warts are caused by HPV. There are many types of HPV, and the low-risk type can cause genital warts. As for the ACV treatment, I think you should apply it for 45 minutes a day for a few days (but I'm not sure). Unfortunately, ACV doesn't work for everyone. If you have the budget, I suggest you get one of those effective OTC topical treatments (such as Wartscide) instead.

It worked for me for hepatitis C and non-genital herpes. Just like fatcha brute said it does. This BHT really does work and fast. I do not know why so few people are aware of the anti-viral properties associated with the use of BHT to treat lipid enveloped viruses. Just like fatcha brute: My HCV viral load was undetectable within one month of using BHT. Also, I stopped having COLD SORES, that are one of the herpes viruses. I continue to take one 350mg capsule of BHT to maintain my bullet proof immune system and have been doing so for more than 14 years now. BHT has been proven to extend the average lifespan of mice up to 31% as stated in this PHYSIOLOGICAL REVIEWS article: http://physrev.physiology.org/content/87/4/1175/T3.expansion.html
So, not only does BHT treat and protect a person from many viral infections, it also extends your chances of living longer by up to 31%. I know of no other compound that has been proven to do all that and it only costs about 15 dollars for 100 dosages, about 50 dollars a YEAR. Pennies a day. But like fatcha brute said:" Don`t believe me ", what do I care. It is your life not mine. ...Oscar

I have HPV and used meds which worked great... although it took a few months to see any effect. It wasn't until well after I completed treatment that they started disappearing. Perhaps this is the case with your vinegar method... give it a few months! ps, my doc told me they never freeze or cut warts anymore, given the effectiveness of the meds nowadays. (Of course, this is coming from a doctor, so it only makes sense that they would say that)
