Saw my doctor last week and he told me I have extreme indigestion and heartburn. That was actually a relief because I was having chest pains and nausea. They gave it some treatment and had me pick up some non-prescription medicine, but since then I've been getting just a little better every day, that's how bad my stomach inflammation was. I'm still on a bland diet and not drinking alcohol. Anyway I had been planning to attend the Washington Regional In Gifford Pinchot National Forest, but instead I had to stay home and take care of myself. Thought I might even swing over to the Montana Gathering if it wasn't too far, but instead I'm sitting at home in a bathrobe. Anyway I felt the need to vent.
Do you know what caused it? I know of one very common cause that few even know about ... Powdered garlic, garlic salt, and garlic in just about every savory commercial product. It's one of those things that over processing truly messes up. As soon as garlic is exposed to air it begins to putrify. It creates a nasty toxin that your body reacts to causing indigestion and gas, sometimes painful. The longer it's exposed, the worse it will be. That's why some very common foods are known to cause indigestion. Things like: Salami and Garlic flavored snacks, garlic pills, etc. Fresh garlic is never a problem as long as it's intact until use. I used to get acid reflux regularly. As soon as I figured out the dried garlic angle I started examining every commercial product label. Turns out none of them were healthy anyway. So once gone from my diet, no more reflux, unless someone surprises me with old powdered garlic in food.
No. I had overindulged on a couple of foods but I don't know exactly what caused it. I've never had a problem with garlic. I've never had indigestion like this. All I know is I don't ever want to go through this again!
