Halloween just ended here in the US. I've noticed people in other countries have taken our lead, and are celebrating Halloween now. You know, the celebrations were brought here in the 19th century by Irish immigrants. And it was always a holiday dedicated to mischief, or at least things that were antiestablishment, or dark in general. That's the idea behind the Addams Family.

The Addams Family was created by American cartoonist Charles Addams in The New Yorker starting 1938. And the idea behind them was, they were so anti-American. But what could their neighbors do? And they never celebrated holidays like Christmas. But Halloween was always a special time for them. Again, what could their neighbors say? And that actually would a good way to do an act of political protest for your neighbors.

Don't celebrate Christmas. Don't celebrate Thanksgiving or the Fourth of July either. But really do up Halloween. Because, tell them, it's really the only holiday your family keeps. And then when a more religious neighbor comes over to complain about the decorations, especially the more violent ones, say this. Well, you're right. Violent decorations might offend some people. But you know, I heard you say the other day Halloween is associated with satanism. And that is going to be out theme this year. Then watch his reaction. Pentagrams. And, ooh, inverted crosses. Then watch his reaction again. In fact, inverted crosses, and we'll do a mock black mass. And defile a eucharist host. Unconsecrated, though of course. And watch his reaction as you say all this.
