I hope you get your wish, Pete! I definitely find getting yourself out there as much as you can is key. Don't do like I do who feels my extra weight or some erectile issues or that I'm too busy keeps preventing me or procrastinating about getting active again on my different gay hookup sites and apps to meet other guys for sex and friendship. At 63 and identifying as mostly gay these last 6 years, I don't have much time left to have the tons of sex with men I've been wishing for all my life, especially intercourse, which I haven't done much of, and some meaningful and loving relationships with other gay men.

I have been doing one thing that I find very good and I would encourage you to do the same if you haven't already, and that is getting socially together with other gay men, where you can feel completely free to be 100% yourself. I'm part of a very active gay men's social group through Facebook that has meetups in restaurant bars twice a week for chat and community, and some other special event get-togethers. I've had some sexual hookups with some of them, but mostly it's just social and friendship (unfortunately there are very few single guys in this group for sex, but the friendships are wonderful). Whatever happens, it still creates connection, which we need more of, especially at our age.

It's kind of a necessity in our very conservative region of two small cities, and a bunch of small towns and villages in a large, more rural region, one that has no gay bars, let alone bathhouses etc. I know Liverpool at, what, half a million people, is different, but I'm sure there are some opportunities to hang out with other gay men.
