Spread 'em out on paper (newspapr is perfect) and just leave 'em somwhere warm and dry for a few days if its warm enough over night should do it
I agree with geck on the fan dry method, but couldnt u put caps gill down on paper and put the fan overtop?
Lay them on a wire mesh, over some "damprid" , in a closed container. This works for drying large fruits. But do not let the the product touch the damprid or the water that collects in it, poison.
why is this some big debate? Set them out on a table and turn your dehumidifier on. Is'nt real complicated.
Yep, this is the way I've dried mine in the past. Get a big bowl that you can seal. Put some Damp-Rid (it's annahydrous (sp?) calcium chloride) in the bottom of the bowl. Use wire mesh, or anything to lay the mushrooms a couple of inches above the Damp-Rid. Seal the container and let sit for 3 days or so. The resulting mushrooms will be cracker dry! PS: Damp-Rid is extrememly cheap.....maybe $2 or so for a decent size container.
hi.i was wondering if it was a problem that my mushrooms (hypothetically) have gone partly green during the drying process. I believe it is not mould as it looks like the coloration of the actual mushroom tissue as opposed some thing growing on it. the strain of mushroom is B+. thank you
The flat out best (and only IMHO) way is to use a dehumidifier. $15o at Sears. Attach a plastic bin to it. Leave a vent. Make trays (screws through the side of the bin). When the thin part of a shroom cracks easily in one hand, they are done. Store in the freezer. ^^ I should charge you for that shit.
FYI: there are a bizillon spores in a cap. you can play baseball with it and still collect enough for a crop. But if you live south of Kentucky and east of Austin, throw them in a cow pasture and pray to Toltec
Just lay em out on a cookie cooling rack over some damp rid.......dont use heat. dont use heat it will cause them to loose their effect. Be paitient grasshopper
