It's my understanding that a thumbprint is when they coat the one side of your thumb with acid and you then lick your thumb. I couldn't see this being more than 3 or 4 hits though...

Let's asume that a decent thumbprint could be about 100 mg od crystal LSD. One average blotter contains about 100 µg of acid. The purity of the crystal can vary of course, so it could possibly consist of only 50% LSD and the rest are chemical impurities. But still, if you divide these two numbers you get more like 500 hits at least.

dude its a lot, dont do a thumbprint thinking its going to be a 3-4 hit trip. Thumbprints are known to be the strongest doses consumable.

Yeah, and it's not just the acid you would get in a vile. It's the crystals. Supposedly, if you lick the tip of a toothpick and then stick it in the crystals, it is like fifty doses or some crazy shit like that (I don't remember the exact number so don't quote me or anything). And just think how much larger the front of your thumb is that the tip of a toothpick... I have heard something like a thousand doses. yikes.

doing a thumbprint is a multi-day commitment. Allot more then a few hits, your third eye will be very open for a while.

A thumbprint is done with pure crystal. I would guess a thumbprint would be .1-.2+ grams. .1g is 1,000 doses at 100mics per dose.
I've heard it's a week long trip. It's done as an initiation into the Family if you plan to work with crystal and learn how to melt the crystal and lay sheets. It's serious stuff. You have to take a thumbprint to prove you're pure of heart and a true Warrior of the Light.

I have heard this too, guy told me he tripped for 2 weeks, they just let him know after he had done that he had just done a full thumb print and to not make any plans.:)

lethal dose is 10-12 grams, right? That's pretty scary close...

Edit: i guess the lethal dose for humans is a little fudgy. my figure may be off/mean nothing.

Yea probably close to 1000 hits exploding your mind away. This is for people who want to see it all in one day, and never come back the same again.

Probably more like life-long commitment... You'll trip for days but if it's to believe some people who claim that they tried it, you never really get down totally... Dude from shroomery claims that many, many years after thumbprint, along with life changes caused by enlightenment, he still got visuals like from 2 hits, all the time, but it doesn't bother him......

haha it pretty much sounds terrifying to me. Besides, I am pretty content with the me I am these days. I dunno. I guess it serves a purpose to those joining the family or whatever, but otherwise, hell no.

^ would be interesting regardless. like hell it means anything being "content with me" -- that's just playing the same bullshit pattern. the "me" I'm personally content with is the one that doesn't factor myself or anything else into the formula, so a 1 week trip would be no problem :p Who knows ,may learn something.

Though I'd love to know how well people remember the experience, how they come out of it, etc.

I disagree. I think there's a point where you're just okay with what's happening in your life and that's the end of that.

a thumbprint is supposed to be a WHOLE different universe than "hits" of lsd.

i once did a thumb print of phenazepam, and i BLACKED OUT...so it was at 15mg, as a few days before i took 10mg and didn't black out [though i had a moderate tolerance at the time].
