How to seperate Kief from shake

I was reading a few posts around here mentioning people buying a dealers shake and then just sifting the kief out of it. I was just wondering how one goes about this. How much do you usually pay for the stuff in the first place? do you need special screen? can you do it with all the left over shit from a stash?

you can make kief out of shake as long as you have a grinder, or some kind of grinding contraption

 

Just grind it or do i have to get one of those grinders that have those kiefing screens? Im really not such a noob to weed I jsut dont grind cuz i dont smoke joints.

Nope

Kief is the sifted crystals and other goodies from weed. Huge THC content compared to straight bud.

Shake is simply all the bits of crystal, leaf, bud, etc that have fallen off bud. Should be just as potent as bud, as that's all it is, just small bits. Obviously any serious dealer goes through huge qantities of bud, which means they collect huge quantities of shake. They usually sell it very cheap or just make their own kief or oil out of it.

It's VERY hard to get kief out of shake or bud witout using the proper tools, silk screen. I don't know what people are talking about grinders for. I would really just suggest you buy a kief box (a box with a screen in it, put the bud/shake/whatever on the top, kief falls through collects in the bottom)

Or you could buy some silk screen, put some sort of frame around it, put the shake/bud on top, and just shake back and forth and watch the kief fall though. Make sure to do it on a glass table, or something very flat and non-porous so the kief doesn't get stuck on there. After you are done just scrape it together in a little pile with a credit card or razor blade, and viola you have some kief that will blow your ballsack through your back!
