I know this is barely related to science and tech, but I got a good idea for an invention that's actually realistic. It's a box in which you blow marijuana smoke into so that it doesn't go anywhere so no one can see it. I realized that soon the pressure in the box would become so great that it would be impossible to blow into it. Then I figured that, since things condense in cold, if, outside the chamber, there was a layer of some kind of self-sustaining cold producer (like dry ice, except self sustaining) it would condense the smoke so a lot more could be blown into it without the pressure. Then a barrier holding the cold in and providing padding on the outside against the cold. What would be a good self-sustaining source of extreme cold? Or would it be eisier just to have it plug into a wall and produce the cold with electricity? But then you would have to wait a few minutes after plugging it in to blow into. And you would have to have an outlet around to use it, which is inconvenient. So do you think there's any way to have a self sustaining cold like that?

The technical end of your box sounds like an early refrigerator in reverse. Refrigerators used expanding gas (lowering pressure) to cool the surroundings, your box uses low temp to lower the pressure.

I have a couple of questions:

    1) Wouldn't a balloon do what you want your box to do?

    2) What do you want it for? Brownies are an easier way to store pot and don't take the continual energy input that your device would.

  3. not worth the energy........

    nor the materials.....

Good point. Hmm... yep. Screw this idea. Oh well. Forgot about balloons.
