What movie theme songs are your favorite? I have a few in mind, but I will start with just one, to get the ball rolling. Raiders of the Lost Ark!

I like soundtracks. Not just the songs, I like instrumentals as well. It sometimes bothers me that studios don't seem to make up their own songs much anymore, and that modern instrumentals are meant to invoke grandeur, but are so generic, samey, and soulless. Older Disney of course. The Forest Gump soundtrack. Soul Food. Princess Mononoke. Spirited Away. Save the Last Dance. Jaws. Sound of Music. Heavy Metal. Anime music.

Music is SO important for setting the mood / s in motion pictures. ( says Captain obvious!) Imagine a serious scene in a movie and imagine a happy polka playing instead of the correct music to fit the scene. Music for Westerns is pretty much always the same.

I think the Superman theme is another one that is known around the world! Another of my favorite movie themes is the instrumental from the western, The Magnificent Seven!

It was originally from a TV Show, but this was an epic theme as well.

You can pick any Bond Theme and it's Iconic.
Most choose Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey. I'm partial to Live and Let Die, by MacCartney.

These days studios use AI for their generic soundtracks, unless they want to pay for music performed by musicians.
