My old "high school" percolator finally broke yesterday. The glass bubble dome on top finally broke apart. It might sound strange. But it had so many memories associated with it. Staying up all night, going out to explore the city late at night, getting high off coffee for some reason. I think I'll still hold onto it for sentimental reasons. (Anybody here know where I can get it repaired, BTW?) I got a new percolator though recently. I'll be using that one now.
Oh my. I like to keep a few things that I've had for quite a while....tools... I have disk and a finish sander that are from the 1950's.....still workhorses. Did the glass dome break, or what? I think I have the same one - looks the same but not very old...somethings are just made the same for years...amazon has everything. I keep it for power outages....I can still light the gas stove. You can buy percolator replacement domes on line, ebay, too.
