Nude statues. (Title corrected)

Does anyone have public nude statues in their town? This one is from The Faroe Islands called, "The Seal Woman."

I like the idea of nude statues in public, as long as they are tastefully done.

 

I always liked looking a classical nude statutes growing up, Greek & Roman. Lol maybe that’s why I like being a nudist

 

Yes, I think if our society had more public nude statues, in appropriate locations, that maybe nudism would be accepted more. I think it's all about desexualizing nudity...just the human body the way we were made!

 

I'm afraid when there are nude statutes, they say that you can't be nude. It's nice to see that statue has pubic hair.

That's a seal-woman, a selkie as they're called in Scotland. It's a legend that a seal can turn into a woman and live a human life (I think there can be male selkies too, but they're not as much fun). In fact a seal-woman can be a good wife, but if he's smart, a man will find her sealskin and hide or destroy it, because a selkie will always be drawn back to the sea, and one day she might put the skin back on, and disappear forever. And then you might see her near the shore with big dark eyes trying to get a glimpse of her human children. But never her husband.

I always liked the nude statues outside of the Coliseum, although their headlessness is a little odd.
