I 54M haven't sucked many cocks, but I've never paused to consider the possibility of the guy having an STD. I'm too eager to suck and swallow to get bogged down in "details" like STDs or the guys name. Am I the only one taking the risk? Is it really that risky?
HIstorically, if you wanted to suck cock, you accepted the risks that comes with doing it and the potential for an STD is one of them and the prevention is always employing condoms for this. Learn what STDs can affect you via oral sex and how important it is to keep your mouth healthy because STDs can't affect you if they don't have any access to your blood, like bleeding gums, cuts, scrapes and abrasions in your mouth and cavities. The vaunted CDC issued a report a while ago now saying that there's a 4% chance of catching an STD (including HIV) via oral sex and... guys lost their fucking minds and not in a good way and to the point where they completely overlooked what that really meant, i.e., there's a 96% chance that you will not catch an STD or HIV via oral sex. A lot of the "details" aren't that important but knowing that you can trust his cock in your mouth is one of those details that cannot be overlooked. I've taken the risk because I can't stand the taste of condoms... and I want to suck cock.
I forgot to add this: I know of too many guys who slam the disease card on the table when the conversation turns to sucking dick, but these same guys will, without giving it a single thought, go down on a woman without employing an oral dam or any other kind of protection. Likewise, a guy will bury his cock in her pussy and as deep as they can get it, bust a nut in her, and not really thinking about this just might be the nut that'll get her pregnant - and because her birth control failed since 99.99% isn't 100%. "So, you're afraid to suck dick because you believe you're gonna catch something, but you don't have a problem giving a woman your dick to suck (and demand, bargain, beg, and plead for her to suck your dick) and you'll go down on her and you have no idea what's really going on down there... so I really don't understand why you just don't go ahead and suck a dick because always pulling the disease card is turning into a very lame excuse." The guy I said this to, wow, did he ever get pissed - but he knew I was right and more so when he'd gotten several UTIs and a couple of yeast infections from his lady. Which makes it a must to learn the symptoms and other useful information about STIs, HIV I and II, AIDS and, yeah, the HPV virus and the same virus that gave me cancer in my neck and throat. I have no regrets about all the cocks I've sucked, all the cum I've swallowed, or all of the pussies I've ever eaten because I knew the risks and accepted them because not giving head wasn't an option - and if I wanted to lick and suck on rubber/latex/whatever, I'd buy some gloves and nibble on them. I remember telling my oncologist, when she was telling me that my cancer was due to HPV and oral sex, that I was laughing about this because, bluntly, I've always loved giving head and this is what it is and, yeah, I can't wait for you guys to cure me of this so I can get back to giving head. She just... blinked but, hey, she did say I could say what I wanted and I told her what I've told all you here: I have no regrets and if I could go back in time and pass on giving head, I still would perform all of the oral sex I've ever performed. Life's too short. I know this for a fact.
A lot of guys do it and, sorry to say it, but it's just an excuse not to suck cock and just like it was once said that if you sucked a guy's prick, you would automatically turn into a woman-hating gay man and a swishy fairy at that,
I played risky for 20+ years sucking off hundreds of guys to never get an STD. However, it caught up to me when a guy who I really enjoyed sucking off and swallowing his load of cum gave me acute hepatitis B. I was more than a little irritated but luckily it worked its way out on its own as the doctor said it would.
I would like to think that same sex interactions are more accepted these days. But, the hate I see on social media gives me pause.
In another thread (Girls Against Condoms), I was characterized as being a stupid girl because I do not allow condoms in my body and later that became a lecture I guess on promiscuity being immoral (my English isn’t the best so of course I might have missed a few things). Yes, I do have sex with at least 20 partners a week and non of it is with condom. I have vaccine for HPV, Truvada preventative and very soon real vaccine for HIV, morning after drugs for a host of other STDs and I see my doctor friend at least every two weeks for checkup. In my country, all this medicine is free and I am included for new trials as my doctor has classified me as a sex worker (due to my level of activity). I have not been infected to this point although obviously nothing one loves doing to this extent can ever be truly risk free!
I tend to agree - nothing one loves doing to this or any extent can ever be truly risk free. You take every preventative measure at your disposal and, importantly, you not only see a doctor regularly, but you confide in them that, okay, look, I have sex... a lot... and if you're bisexual, you let them know this so when they do your lab work, they can look for any signs that you've gotten ahold of something you might not want. But, you see, men are... funny. They want to suck cock and they want to do it without a condom but are, again, deathly and pathologically scared of STDs and... as a cocksucker, I understand why they'd want to pass on sucking on a condom but, at the same time, you gotta be smarter about anyone you'd sleep with - and that includes any FWBs you happen to have. I reasoned, so many years ago now, that there was a reason why the adults of my youth said that sex was dirty and nasty and... they weren't wrong about that but it's simple: If you don't want to catch anything, either use protection or don't have the sex and more so if you're not going to be proactive about your sexual health and open with a doctor about that. Know the true facts and not the bullshit that's been around longer than I've been around...
Of course, there is a very real, but small, chance that you could catch something. @KDaddy23 makes good points. For me, it's a matter of balancing your risk / reward and it's all a personal choice. I haven't worn a condom for many, many years and I've never used a dam on a woman. But sucking and being sucked is my favorite and my newest friend was surprised when I offered oral on her after she finished sucking me. I never thought for a minute getting or giving. Again, we're all different.
There's risk to oral sex. There are also ways to mitigate that risk. Top notch oral hygiene is a must. I take perfect care of teeth and gums. Floss all the time, gums don't bleed, zero cavities. Finding a regular friend cuts risk way down, assuming that your friend isn't promiscuous. I've been giving head for 20 years, 0 STD's of any kind because the majority of blowjobs I've given have been to a handful of men. If you are screwing around with meetups, having standards and sticking to them is key. I've turned down a lot of guys because they were creepy, flaky, or into drugs and alcohol or all of the above. It is far better to beat off alone than to run around outside your comfort zone. And then there are very high risk activities like cruising spots and glory holes. I've done these a handful of times, but stopped. Very thrilling but ultimately not worth it. These days, I have a regular friend and the very occasional meetup. I can tell almost right away if someone isn't worth the time just by talking to them on the phone. Weirdos stick out like a sore thumb as do guys looking for safe and discreet.
This is one of the main reasons that I have not been able to bring myself to sucking someone's cock. Men are extremely promiscuous, men are sluts and we will put our cocks anywhere if it will make us cum. Besides, most of the guys only want a quick "blow and go". I would like to get to know someone, get to know something about them and get to know where their cock has been before I put it in my mouth!!
