Silver Sunshine VS. Orange Sunshine

Which was better?
Some today claim that silver sunshine is better than the old orange sunshine, but I, for one, don't believe it.
What do you think?

no..never even had my hands on LSD...

Yeah, I agree with Shameless Baby, I never heard of Silver Sunshine. And Skip is dead right, that freakin Orange barrel would blow your consciousness clean out of the universe. I fooled around and did a whole tab by myself when I was sixteen. First time I ever went into ego loss. It scared my ass to death, literally. Peace, Love, and Flowers, Y.B.

 

The first LSD-25 I ever took was in liquid form.. blue liquid, in little glass vials..I got them from The Brotherhood. over at Mysitc Arts in Laguna. John, Uncle Tim and a few of us would head up to Majeska Canyon in So-Cali where Tims Phychidellic Church was and we would have 'sessions' where Tim would Guide us through our bodies so we would not lose our way. He was our Guru and we would listen to Ravi Shankar in the back ground while Tim read from the prayer book

We would sit in a circle on the stone floor of the Church and Timothy would read from his Phychidellic Experience/ Prayer Book.. I still have mine he gave me. The same one we would read from, cira 1964/65'. He guided us through a strange land as we tripped through the universe of our bodies and left them in waiting as we soared on astro-planes of exsistence. It was really quiet a jouney when Uncle Tim was 'driving the bus'

The "church" was just that and Dome shaped church with beautifully entracit detailing of The Garden of Eden in stained glass all the way around the domes walls.. Exquizit to behold esp' on acid..Talk about Colors and Paterns and being next to GOD/ess in IDD consciousness, set in the the forest hills of the canyon. Mind Blowing at it's peak.

My sister and her ole man lived in the canyon is how it all came about, hookin' up with Timothy Leary and the Brotherhood. Mystic Art World was Tims Head Shop and headquarters' beginning of the Brotherhood and that is where all the cool ppl hung out 'around' and is where we met John Tims partner.. he asked my bro in law where he was from one afternoon while we were at the shop and he said they lived in Majeska Canyon and John mentioned the Church and it was two places down from where my bro n sis lived and saw it everyday so they got together and john invited us to a session and we went and is where we accually met Timothy Leary and became part of the regular sessions at the church.. it was very exclusive and and only a few knew about it.. The church was later distroyed by a flood that wiped out most of the houses up there including my sis' cira 65'.. last I heard it was changed to the Anahiem Hills and all bouswah.. no trace of the beautiful church now. John died soon after that, I don't remember what yr it was, maybe 68/67.. he drowned in Tims swimming pool I 'think', maybe it was his own, but I think it was Tims...his name was John Griss or something like that.. it was a lifetime ago.

Purple Domes
Dots (drops on paper)
Orange Speckled Barrels
Windowpane( drops on cellulous)

Windowpane was the last acid I tripped on cira 75'

I never heard of SILVER SUNSHINE? Unless, it's a 1980's, or later, brand?

I have an old REFERENCE book, entitled: THE DRUG ATLAS, BY Edward J. Woodhouse, Ph.D. and Gary W. Webb, Published by: THE MIDWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE, 425 Volkar Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri, 64110, Copyright 1974, which has a total of 128 ACTUAL STREET DRUG SAMPLES, with a picture of the sample and the results of their actual chemical analysis. Most of the drugs analyzed were psychedelic in nature.

ORANGE SUNSHINE and ORANGE BARREL are definately mentioned in THE DRUG ATLAS, but NO SILVER SUNSHINE, only BLACK SUNSHINE is mentioned, as a color other than ORANGE SUNSHINE. BLACK SUNSHINE? Its picture shows a "charcoal gray-colored" hard pill shape (like an aspirin tablet): Weight: 100mgs., LSD content: 125 ugms., Date of Acquisition: May 4, 1970, Location: Overland Park, Kansas, Price: $2.00. At Arizona State University (Tempe, AZ) in 1974, I did hear of a type of LSD called: WHITE LIGHTENING. Has anyone heard of this brand? I didn't try it, though.

From this small sampling: ORANGE BARREL ranges from: 250-400 ugms./pill! And these are actual laboratory tests and measurements!

Not too shabby! Quite powerful at 400 ugms., I'd think?!

One sample of the WINDOWPANE-type of acid is given (page 48):

WINDOWPANE tested at 375 ugms. of LSD - pretty powerful! But, is this a single dose, or a 4-way dose?

Some guy from California was selling "LSD ARTWORK", i.e. framed artwork with actual samples of the gel/celluose MEDIUM that LSD-25 (aka: WINDOWPANE acid), was put on, or mixed into, in varying colors, (containing no real LSD-25, of course!), on "ebay". Plus, samples of LSD Blotter ART. I bought some his work. Totally LEGAL! Only gel/celluose and paper and ink!

These LSD STREET DRUG samples, were basically from the early 70's, and don't apply to late 60's samples (with different serious chemists, then- like: Stanley OWSLEY). The late 60's LSD samples were probably PURER and each individual dose, was probably alot higher, and alot more powerful!. Today's ACID SCENE is way different, than the 60's/70's, with probably less PURITY and STRENGTH (i.e. weaker doses), however, there are exceptions, as always!

ORANGE SUNSHINE was probably ALD-52, in the 60's! ALD-52 is a slightly-modified LSD-25 molecule, that converts into LSD-25 in your body. A VERY CLEVER molecular manipulation! THE MIDWEST RESEARCH INSTITUTE's STREET DRUG TESTS may not have been set-up to test for ALD-52, and may have just reported as LSD. But I don't know for sure?

I never tried any SUNSHINE, or ORANGE BARREL acid forms. I also heard of YELLOW SUNSHINE. I had a high school friend in 1969-1970? who tried the powerful ORANGE BARREL brand, and he said it was very SCARY!!! When he was walking outside in his subdivision, the houses came alive and were laughing at him! Psychedelic cartoon time!!! One time he had a bad trip. Maybe it was on ORANGE BARREL?

My first LSD trip was, WITHOUT DOUBT, my most powerful psychedelic-experience in my life! It was in/and by my dorm building, close to: Arizona State University - ASU "Sun Devils" - (Tempe, Az), in the April of 1974. It was sold as: 4-WAY WINDOWPANE (AMBER square of plastic), for maybe $2.00. It was very SPEEDY, electric, with powerful energy rushes like STP (but more in "waves"), intense visual distortions, all kinds of visuals, multi-images and "tracers", a morphing reality "PEAK-experience", plus an extremely-fast "take-off" and a very speedy-ending. It was in waves like "hashish" in energy sensations.

At one point I experienced COSMIC ECSTACY, which was the most powerful feeling of PLEASURE, I have ever had in my ENTIRE life!!! Nothing else has even come close in PLEASURE INTENSITY, since!

MY PEAK EXPERIENCE was way too powerful and "whacked-out"! I was in one of my college friend's dorm room (a California biker), when one of the dorm walls disappeared and turned into outer space (with stars, galaxies and the blackness of space)! The other dorm-room wall disappeared into infinity! A clear tunnel (20' wide?) came out of the universe wall and surrounded me by all sides, and extended into infinity, through both walls! There was a glass, "pill-capsule-shaped top" KIOSK object, about 3' tall, along side this "STAR-GATE" tunnel and it had flowing, florescent "tv picture-like images" flowing all underneath the glass surface. A thought-controlled star-gate "controller"? 3-D Time Images of people would drift-by within this tunnel and in one instance - a red ball bounced past me, all by itself! All VERY SOLID and REAL!!! Other people appeared in the room, I could "feel" things outside of my body and my mind seemed to expand across the ENTIRE UNIVERSE!!! I was RIDICUOUSLY HIGH!!! COOL, but SCAREY HIGH!!!

"Skip's" description of ORANGE BARREL acid sounds very close to the effects of WINDOWPANE acid - powerful, speedy, edgy and with a hard landing!

"Yogi Bhairava" stated that: "...that freakin' Orange barrel would blow your consciousness clean out of the universe." IT's TRUE of 4-WAY WINDOWPANE, too! Also, 4-WAY WINDOWPANE had a rocket-booster start, with intense EGO-LOSS and a feeling of dying or going insanely crazy FOREVER!!! Luckily, this feeling was short-lived and gave way to THE MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR - "CARNIVAL" aspects of LSD - MORE FUN!!!

Sometime in the early 70's, a better way to synthesize acid was discovered, ensuring a more pure product. Was WINDOWPANE acid a result of this? ELI LILLY & COMPANY have the patent for the GARBRECHT PROCESS (the most efficient process for the manufacture of LSD). SILVER SUNSHINE? It's a MYSTERY TO ME? However, ORANGE BARREL and WINDOWPANE (4-way) was some powerful HYPER-SPACE stuff!!! Very SUFI?

Never heard of the sunshine, we had the barrels, purple microdot, sheets of some sort of absorbant thick paper that had drops of acid that you could see when you held it over a light source. GOOD SHEET MAN!?!?!?!? I NEVER had a bad trip!! I was introduced to acid in Saratoga NY in 1972. Was going to school there and had a place out on the lake, but usually stayed with friends in town on the park that was near Skidmore. We would get tuned up with pot, hash, and electric wine. A bottle of Mateus Rose or Blanco, or boonesfarm or ripple, really didn't matter, and dissolve a couple of 4way barrels in it and pass it around. To wash down the hash. The apartment on the park was on the 3rd floor overlooking the park. It was a safe, controlled environment with at least 1 person not taking acid, sort of a moderator, if you will . There were usually 6 or more of us. New comers were allowed a few sips of the electric wine and were evaluated for an hour or so to see how they handled it. If they were ok then we would take a barrel each, we really didn't mess around with a quarter or half tab. Peaking would usually take 45 minutes or so and there would be another evaluation to see if anyone was anxious or on the verge of FREAKING OUT. 2 out of 3 new comers would usually stop here and enjoy the ride. We had black lights around the apartment and the stereo on.
When we had 3 or 4 days to party , the core group would have Peaking Parties!!!! We would procure 100 lot bags of barrels and drop another 1 when the previous peak was waning, about 1 barrel every 2 hours. YEE HAA!!!!

 

My first acid trip was orange sunshine, I was a 16 year old farm girl, just run off to join the hippies, and it scared the crap out of me!!! Nevertheless, I wasn't one to let sheer terror stop me doing things, so I continued with my acid experiments with much nicer results the next time. Orange sunshine was very nice stuff. Also strawberry barrels were totally mind-blowing.
I never heard of silver sunshine.

 

the only "silver" acid I know of would refer to it's purity. Silver is the step below white fluff/ needlepoint which is the stuff that goes 95% purity or over. Silver is more in the 80's. With organic chemistry anything over 90% purity is considered good results and 100% is not really possible so silver is not bad, but it's not spectacular. But the less pure the acid, the rougher and weaker it will be to the user. Between the two I am sure the orange sunshine was over 80% purity.
