Someone killed a bird and left it at our doorstep. Is this a curse?

About 8 months ago, my boyfriend and I moved into a house together. We live in a peaceful, suburban area with not much crime or anything really.

We've been here for 8 months and weird stuff has been happening in the house. We have both experienced things together and have seen things with our own eyes. A lot of stuff we can't really tell people since most people wouldn't believe us. It seems all paranormal and we both experience it. But we don't think we have some sort of ghost. It just feels like a lot of negative energy just circulates throughout the house. It makes itself obvious that its there. But lately, for the past few months, things have been getting stranger.

My boyfriend and I feel like our own personal energy has been drained. All we do now is sleep and we both feel negative and lifeless all the time. About a month ago, my boyfriend even stopped eating and would stay in bed all day but have troubles staying asleep. We both started to experience nightmares (I never have nightmares) and there has been times where we'd share the same dream. One night we had a nightmare that I was stabbed by someone who broke into the house. Another night we had the same nightmare that we were both running from something and ran into a church and hid. We both woke up at the same time in a panic.

Now it gets weirder. We live right next to a cemetery and it seems like a peaceful place but what scares me is the people who live right next to us.
We live right next to a large house where maybe 10 people live there. They are very loud and we can hear them all the time but we really don't care. We don't mind noise at all! The house consists of an older couple, probably around 50 yrs old and they have several children (all between 18-25 yrs old) and one of them has a baby, who is treated poorly. We sometimes hear the whole family yelling and swearing at the kid all the time but we don't do anything cause we have not seen them do anything physical. I know these people don't like us for absolutely no reason. We have both tried to be nice and make conversation with them while passing by. But they always give us a rude look and refuse to say a word to us. I see them everyday outside their house for 8 months and not a single one of them will say hi. Even when I walk home from work at night, I get this eerie feeling. My heart will beat rapidly and its not cause I pass through the cemetery in the dark but its when I pass by their house I get this really negative feeling and I get really scared. Sometimes I feel like something is chasing me from their house up to my doorstep. Some unknown presence.

Now it gets weirder. I've been suspicious that this family practices some sort of black magick. Sometimes when I look at the older couple, I feel evil from them. They look like hippies but they seem more like the Manson family. Recently they put up a large upside down pentagram above their house and sometimes I hear sounds of cats dying and it sounds like it comes from their back yard.

Now, this is the creepy part. Neither my boyfriend or I have any enemies. Nobody really knows where we live aside from his family and mine. Plus a few close friends who we've known for years. We're very low profile and don't really piss anyone off and never really have people over. But the other day, I went out to take my dog for a walk when I noticed a dead bird (sparrow) at our doorstep. One of our outdoor chair was moved from the side of the house and arranged at our doorstep and somebody shot and killed this little bird and put it at our doorstep. There is a bullet through his head and it was left for us to see. We thought this could be a sign or a warning and we looked it up online and some believe its a curse in some satanic ritual or form of black magic. When you kill a sparrow and leave it on someones doorstep that could mean (for people who believe in this) that something bad will happen to the people who live in the house. We didn't touch the bird and left it there for two days. Then this morning, my boyfriend went outside to go to work and noticed the bird was removed from the chair. Whoever brought the bird over to us, also removed it.

This is not just a prank or someone being an asshole. This is just evil and sick. I don't know what we should do. We decided that we're going to move away but have to save up money first. I don't have proof its the people next door but we really don't know anyone who would do this. I'm also scared for other reasons. Whoever did this wanted to leave us a message and we're afraid they could hurt our dog or mess with my boyfriends car. Plus devils night is coming up. We can't go to the police for something like this. I don't know what we should do but we are pretty freaked out.

 

Are you practicers of magick as well?

Put in place protective spells, evoke gaurdians. You can defend yourselves, and if it comes down to it, fight back.

 

If you are calling halloween the devil's night that seems very offensive.

Your neighbors probably practice satanism. The upside down pentegram is a sign of the devil.

It is seriously creepy that someone is doing these things. Moving is probably the best suggestion. If they put a curse on you, you will either need to be cleansed or find some protection in spells or the gaurdians. If things keep happening, like dead animals are put on your property, I would report it to the police. It is a form of harassment if people are doing this on perpose.

Borrow a large gun,sit where your neighbors can see you and clean it for an hour or so,call animal control about the possible cat torture/killings and move as soon as possible.It's a cult of some type.Take no shit--life is to long to be bugged by those for whom the social contract means nothing,spiritual or otherwise.

 

cats leave dead birds in prominent places to ''show'' there bounty all the time...mine brings them in the house almost every day....is there a cat hangin around...maybe a ghost cat?

 

Yeah but I'm pretty sure a cat cannot leave a bullet hole in the birds head.

 

I dont post much over here, but I do have a little background in paganism and witchcraft, and it sounds like this may be an active imagination at work more than a curse.

Cats dont shoot birds, but they do drag them around - dogs arent afraid to cart a few days old dead thing around either

Cats sound like they are dying in the back yard? Cats howl and yowl more when they are fighting or mating than dying most times.

Even with the descriptions of Manson Family and Devils night in the same post, I might suggest we put the witch doctor's exorcism on hold for a few days....

I believe these people are into the occult. Just remember, good is more powerful than evil. God is more powerful than the devil.

I don't know if you have faith? But, I'd pray to Jesus for protection. Every morning and every night before you go to sleep. Pray in his name. This is a spiritual battle. I hope I don't sound like a holy roller, because I'm not. But I do believe in God and his power. These people prey on the spiritual weak, so be strong.

I know it's easier said that done, but I'd look into moving. And not because they are devil worshippers, because they are already killing animals. These people can be dangerous.

I agree with samson; sure your neighbours are wierd but it sounds like you're reading into things way too mutch and getting all superstitious about it.

Whatever the case, if your neighbours won't even say hello, so be it. Leave them be and stop feeding this scenario with your thoughts and beliefs. They are YOUR beliefs after all ... so just stop dwelling on it and get on with your lives.

The first thing I thought of is, "Have you cleansed your home?"

 

As lame as it might sound and as silly as you'll feel, take the time to walk around your house and talk to it. Tell it your problems, tell it your life, your concerns, everything. Be it 5 or 10 minutes. An hour maybe? Just talk. Let whatever is there know that you know it's there.
I used to experience the same kind of thing in my other house. Most of the disturbance came from sleeping. I'd wake up with scratches all over me and every one of my dreams was about an unseen presence trying to chase me out of my house. I'd have dreams about people breaking in and what not so one day I had at it with the house in a verbal confrontation. It worked wonders, not only did the nightmares stop, I had another dream that we were broken into and totally robbed empty. An angel from the heavens approached me and said "Do not fear Jocelyn, I am an angel from above. My name is .... (he spoke it but no sound was made) everything will be okay" so I went back into my place and things were being returned. Now the only thing that was never stolen was my safe. I keep a lot of my family memorables in there such as my grandparents war medals and such. In one dream an old lady threw pots and pans at me and screamed for me to "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!!". I memorized how she looked and I asked my parents and grandpa if they'd known anyone of that description. Turns out they did. A crazy aunt. A crazy aunt that had married into our family and kept her husbands memorables in her house. Now they were in my house. She was obviously attached to them. But like I said, just talk to the house. When I did I said I wouldn't sell or lose the medals so she had nothing to worry about and nothing came back up again.

 

Are you sure the bird didn't just fly into the door or window. I've had that happen--once to a beautiful painted bunting that is very rare in my state. It's supposed to be a bad omen, but I don't remember anything terrible happening.
