I've never had any side effects of this - I take Descovy. Been taking it daily for several years. No issues whatsoever. Part of the regimen is getting checked every quarter - blood work, etc.. It's not a bad thing when you are sexually active - even a little sex can give you a big problem if you aren't taking some kind of precautions and getting checked regularly. (especially if you're having sex with people you don't know) I do not practice safe sex consistently - bareback, etc. Maybe I am walking through risky territory, but I feel pretty confident in the protection this medication provides.
The gay friend I was seeing way back, had the strictest health and med check routine, so I was not too worried about catching anything. Mostly cock sucking but In the heat of the moment, I gave it to him bareback now and then, throwing caution to the wind.
