Here's a review of the VaporGenie that I found. ------------------- I've officially owned my VaporGenie for 3 months and 3 months of heavy usage. I didn't even smoke all that much until I got it, now I smoke whenever and wherever I please. Pros: No warm-up time Uses a lighter Portable Can be smoked indoors! (no smell) Quiet Concealable Inconspicuous (hardwood edition can pass for a tobacco pipe) Aesthetically pleasing More efficient than pipe, bong, joint Great for athletes (no negative health effects) Herb is locked in and can't fall out or be blown out Can cook with the vaporized herb! Cons Somewhat of a steep learning curve (about 10 bowls) Very bad for multiuser sessions Small bowl (about 1/2 to 1/3 the size of a regular bowl) Takes a longer time than regular piece to smoke same amount of herb Uneven vaporization Let me talk about the cons first. The most obvious to me after purchasing was the very poor multiuser nature of the VaporGenie. The thing is, all the cons work in tandem to prevent this piece from being any good to use with anymore than 1 extra person. The bowl is small and takes a longer time finish than a regular piece with the same amount of herb in it which means you can smoke less per minute or hour with it. What also tends to happen is that new users end up torching the herb which can ruin the taste for everyone else. The nature of the piece also means that most of the vapor is gone after the first 2 hits but if you don't want to waste herb, you should be taking another 2-3 hits on it to extract all the primary ingredients. This means that if you're number 3 or greater in the rotation, you're not getting shit. As for the vaporization quality itself, it's fairly uneven. I've noticed that when looking into the bowl, the half of the herb that's closest to your mouth tends to be browner than the other half after a hit. This unevenness isn't much of a problem since the herb is sealed in and a good shake after each hit fixes that. This is also why I think the bowl is small; to combat unevenness that a larger bowl would bring. As for the pros, well, let's just say I feel they strongly outweigh the cons. I feel that this may be one of the best, if not the best, piece on the market for solo smokers. It looks just like a tobacco pipe in the hardwood version, it seals the herb in so you can pack a bowl and then just take it with you without worrying the herb will fall out, it has no negative health consequences, it tastes good, it's the most efficient way to extract the primary active ingredients in herbs (look up the MAPS/NORML study), and best of all, you can cook with the leftovers! I made firecrackers out of about 10-15 bowls worth of vaped herb and I was fucking blazed literally all day. Virtually NO THC is wasted using this method. It's some serious bang for your buck. One of the other awesome things about it is the fact that when done properly, there's not really any smell at all, and whatever smell there is for about 30 seconds after you exhale smells nothing like weed. It's more of a woody, burnt popcorn sort of smell. It goes away so fast that by the time someone asks you what that smell is, you can just say, "I don't smell anything" and a few seconds later they won't smell anything either and think it was just their imagination. This means that while I'm home for summer with my parents, I can smoke in the basement, in my room, or even just a room adjacent to them without any special prep and they don't have clue. Bottomline: I think this may be the best portable smoking device on the market today, vape or not. It's a good vaporizer, not the best, but definitely holds it's own against its quadruple-priced competition. I'd say it's the best vaporizer for the money seeing as I've tried others before. For $50, it'll save your herb, your health, and your headaches about being caught. Truly a great invention. by carthagexl
I figure it would be a good idea to try something like this out before buying the higher priced vaporizers.
i almost considered ordering one of those but i think its a waste of money...i'd rather use my regular pipes
how can it be a real vaporizer if it uses a lighter? isn't the point of a vaporizer NOT to use a lighter so that the weed doesn't combust?
This dude seems to like his. Check the comments some people touch on how they're used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0sEhlWlkws
