"Witchcraft" was invented by witch hunters in the 15th to 18th century. And "witchcraft", and satanism are based on stories told by witch hunters to shock the public, including that they profaned sacred items and had women naked during their rituals. It also is based on dreams and hallucinations caused by drugs and ergot poisoning.
