Nice to see snow up there!

      @~Zen~

      yes
      it's piling up
so far, snow level is mostly 5,500'-7,000'
      I'm just shy of 4,000'

I can be in 8' of snow in 10 min
but I haven't had to mess with it yet..

Feb/Early March can dump 36"-40" overnight down here..

closes I-5 for a day or more at times..

in 1958 - just up the hill - the record snowfall from a single storm system in the lower 48 was set and it still stands: 16.5'

at the 6,500' - 7,000' old ski park elevation

thank you.. I appreciate the comments..
I forgot: what is the point in Britain where hills are referred to as mountains?

      @mountain_seed

Are you saying don't make a mountain out off a mole hill :).

We have big mountains, but had to shrink them down to fit into the UK :tongueout::grinning::wink:.

if UK was code for 'Speedos', that statement takes on an entirely different meaning :smilingimp:

I don't even know you, but I enjoy chatting with you..
if my situation changes, maybe I'll return to UK and say hello

back in 1960s I was a junior LA City lifeguard, appointed to West Point (resigned), LA Co Helicopter-Attack Wildland firefighter (hotshot crew).. then enlisted in Army, went to'Nam (101st Airborne Division ).. in 1970s I worked in construction, painted murals, sold lumber.. I chatted weekly with Vincent Price (amazing man).. I regularly interacted (non-sexually) with Dom De Luise (he couldn't keep his hands off of me, but he wasn't my type), Kenny Rodgers, Bill Withers, Donna Mills, Adam West, Robert Vaughn, Jan Michael Vincent, Robert Brown (Here Come the Brides, Star Trek guest), Tom Selleck (just before Magnum PI), then moved N to Redding, CA and Clint Eastwood/Merle Haggard were regular customers at building supply employer and I was their 'go to guy'..

why I told you all of this? hell, I guess I'm just feeling isolated and apprehensive.. my daughter drives up to Medford, Oregon today to get results of her biopsied lung nodules and I'm getting things prepared for my cancer radiation treatments soon..

      just feeling melancholy
an odd interval in life.. I've been essentially laid up for 2 years with foot injury.. I want to get back out into the mountains, lava beds, rivers, lakes..

I need to restart my painting/drawing.. my daughter manages the golf resort and has been trying for four years to motivate me to reboot my art.. make money.. she says she'll hang my mountain scenes at resort and they'll be seen by high rollers.. plus gift shop stuff..

sounds like a plan.. more money isn't a bad thing

glad to get your comments.. thank you..

Wow you have had a long and meaningful life. I've had a similar type background as yourself, but not as exciting. Sorry to hear about your daughter and the state off your health. But you have the caricature and tenacity to get you through difficult situations and times, I admire you for that.

It would be nice to chat to you, when and if convenient with you some time aswell.

If you like you can PM me if you like, no pressure and it's Been nice chatting with you to my friend.
