Friends Forever

It's from an old sitcom. I don't think it had a very long run. But it does remind me of the concept of friends forever. My parents had friends that went back to their teen age and their twenties. I know a few people from high school, but none ever became a friend forever.
There is something about a person with whom you never have to question trust. There are so few of them left. Sometimes I wonder if they had ever existed. So many people unfriended me in the world because they outgrew me (or because I no longer served their need/purpose). And I had to leave some behind when I came to realize that they could not keep a confidence.
"What's said here stays here," is the prelude to my group meetings.
I'm fussy about the people I meet.
"Take care of those you call your own and keep good company!"
