More On My Views.

I was also going to say, my ideas on justice and the justice system radically changed by 1996. And then I started thinking about new ways of dealing with the issue of violence and antisocial behavior in the justice system. And then around that time a couple stories came out about that. Or at least one that I can think of, on a story in the news. And that ironic Star Trek Voyager episode Repentance came out. In early 2001, before I got online and started sharing my ideas. It dealt with the medical issues of violent and criminal behavior, but in the context of the legal system and issues of noninterference and diplomacy. I finally watched the episode again yesterday on Amazon videos. And it like I remembered, with the Doctor making the ironic observation that I remember. Seven of Nine tells him you want protect these men and set them free, but what about the victims and their families? Seven of Nine being a former Borg was only being rational and practical, but the Doctor points out all she really is talking about is revenge, not justice or fairness. That episode dealt with a lot of complex issues. It took a more politically conservative tone than the TOS episode Dagger of the Mind in 1966. In 1966 the mood of the country was very different. Also the episode Repentance is interesting because it brings up, indirectly of course, all the issues that the US has been facing since the late 60s. From the political climate to the new situations that arisen since then socially and in the justice system. Like I said, whether you agree with its full message I would recommend watching to see what I mean.
