More On My Views.

I also wanted to talk about my early experiences with things like social justice, and I guess just right and wrong in the general sense. Like I've said, my early experiences were growing up Catholic and being educated in Catholic schools. But you know some Catholics, even if they were misguided, seemed to have the right attitude and a compassionate heart. And some of them seemed so open-minded on issues even when tradition seemed to say otherwise. Like Pope Leo XIII and his belief in social reform and his papal essay on the rights of workers and the injustice the working class and poor faced then. Or one of my HS teachers Sister Rose. Who was very old by the time I had her and very traditional in many ways, still wearing a nuns habit and quoting Latin. But she had a soft heart, and she did things like march for racial justice in the 60s. I really don't think you need to even completely agree with someone. Like my HS chemistry and physics teacher who fought in World War II and often had a view from someone of that generation. But some of things he said still made sense sometimes. And he also told us around my senior year that he was a deist at heart too, if I understood him.
