More On Where Things Stand Now.

And like I said, there's a fundamental respect for your fellow man that people in my life have a problem with. People think they can get way too personal with me. And they think things like where go, where I walk and harmless personal interests I have is their business. And the Detroit police have less respect for me than they do for criminals. They knew there were people in my neighborhood with no licenses, suspended licenses, no insurance and worse. And they were all right with that. But they saw me minding my own business living my life and driving, and they had to put a stop to that. For 20 years. And when I explained I couldn't even get to my closest doctor, they said I'd manage. To get to my doctors in Dearborn I'd have to find a DOT bus line that goes to the southern most tip of Detroit, and then hop on the SEMTA system. That might work they said. But I don't have to do something ridiculous like that because I drive and I'm a good driver. But they'd never listen.
I have no friends, very little money to live on, few social outlets, few family left, few options. And they still told me that. And now that lady tells me Eric can just leave it all, like he always wanted to. Leave me permanently damaged, handicapped, in desperate need, with no washing machine, with nowhere to go, only to become homeless in that state. And she told me the law would support him in that. Because it favors the upper middle class, and looks down on the destitute and powerless. Leave me powerless and to fend for myself. Just like their Detroit police were trying to do with my car in 2005. And like then I am just told over and over again there is nothing I can do about, no matter how horrible or unjust it seems.
EDIT: And I might as well share. Someone online recently asked "What is your driver status right now? Reading your post I didn't quite get that."
My reply: I have a valid license and always have. Good insurance and good driving record. All of that the same and unchanged since June, 1989. Except in 2005 the police started following me around and harassing me. For reasons only known to them. (It might have been a mistake. And they and others seem to imply now they agree it was all wrong.)
