Upcoming Road Trip : City of St Francis

It's my SECOND hometown and a city that I have never stopped loving (even with its abundance of drug addicts and practicing alcoholics). I generally go there on my own and I usually prefer to drive. It's an easy trip to make even the way I meander. This time, however, I am planning on going with an old pen pal of mine; an Australian to whom I have written for over 35 years.
It's one of the most fun cities to be in and to show off. It has water, good food, vistas, a wide variety of folks to look at, decent public transportation, pleasant weather, crooked streets, cable cars, fog horns... It's not always the easiest city to walk around (those streets have steep inclines), but there are ways around it.
I generally go alone. One of the reasons that I dislike travelling with others is that I am not a huge fan of going through the democratic process of deciding whether to go here or go there, whether to do this or do that, whether to see her or see him... you get the point. If I opt to walk, I can rest when I need to rest. If I want to have a vegetarian meal, I don't have to justify it with anyone.
The trip isn't until September. Plenty of time to worry.
