Warsh up; Warsh down

I'm so glad I speak EFL. I don't think I would want to have to learn English idioms to the point of having them intuitively understood. Wash up is a reflexive as in, "Gonna warsh m'self up 'fore suppertime." Wash down is done on an object such as a ceiling for floor clean up as in "Gonna warsh down them there walls with vinegar an' a scrub brush!"
This came to mind during laundry night. There are times of the day when it is best to do laundry; presumably late at night when water consumption isn't particularly high. It's 1:00 am on a Sunday and I'm sure there aren't too many people in my neighborhood who are concerned with their water pressure.
I spent a week this month with a retired Spanish teacher. I had forgotten just how full of himself he could be. A big show off and know-it-all. I dread being mistaken for someone like that. On the same week vacation, I was mistaken for a vegetarian, someone who might be in AA, and someone who "looks hungry". Amazing what other people read into me at times.
