Tragic indeed, but not a curse. They overloaded the plane to the point that it was too heavy and unbalanced. The pilot took an unnecessary risk, jeopardizing safety, because Aailya and her crew didn't want to part with their belongings. The pilot should have grounded the plane and refused the flight.
