best deals i ever got were someone elses problems

i love it when people just give up on good stuff

got a great deal once on a hyundai xg350...under 500 bucks...all it needed was 1 wire fixed on the speed sensor and i sold it for 4500....guy had given up on it and bought a new one because the dealer diagnosed it as needing a transmission

I looked into some reviews of carvana and decided its a bad idea

I would consider buying privately, the boyfriend is a car guy and he has a mechanic friend so they would check it over thoroughly before I decided anything

I just dont wanna deal with the hassle of any of it

True. Buying new, you have that coverage for so many miles/years. I always buy brand new, but what always annoyed me is when they have that maintenance requirement for every 5,000, 10,000 or more miles. Its a freakin scam. You spend all that fuckin money just for a down payment, or some people pay it all out in full (lucky them), and they steadily milk you for more and more money with a maintenance schedule that hits you up for $500-$2000 for menial bullshit. Unless it's something critical, I never follow those schedules and damn sure don't pay all that money. Oil and fluid changes, tire rotations, brakes, timing belt, etc. I keep up with, and let the other shit take me by surprise.

Debating whether or not I want to renew my home warranty that covers appliances and shit, with First American Home Warranty. I'm not that impressed with the coverage and starting to think this is another scam as well. This past summer, I had to repair my garage door, and they covered only $25 of the $75 appointment call, and the repair came out to $560 to replace the roller, which they didn't cover. Found out that they only cover repairs to the receiver/remote system. Such bullshit. Does anyone have a home warranty policy that's worth a damn?
