Except almost any other county has corrected this "problem". You just don't want there to be a solution because of your own fears about the goverment and burglars I suspect.

 

I wonder what kind of rumors will circulate about the killer and the motives. There’s always a lot of misinformation that comes out of events like this in order to misrepresent certain groups and subcultures.

I’ll never forget how disgusted I was when rock stars like Marlyn Manson were blamed for influencing the Littleton shooting.

 

I don't "think" metal detectors will help, I've seen it happen. But it's only effective to a degree, I never once claimed it to be a total solution. But you do illustrate the real problem very well, the maniac. They will find a way. It's what they do. If they want you dead, a corkscrew will do.

There was a shooting last year about 45 minutes from me, it didnt make national news because his gun jammed after he shot the first victim...well, second but first was his dad and happened earlier

He's on trial this week to decide if he will be tried as an adult or minor. He was only 14. The court released the transcript of his interrogation and I read through it, it gave me insight into a person I probably would have dismissed simply as a psychopath otherwise

I actually feel some sympathy for him, it was obvious the cops interviewing him did too .he was obviously neglected and had a bad home life. He went to a virtual online school because he had been bullied so badly in public school and he said he spent most of his time in his room isolated from everyone. Just an all around shitty existance for a kid.

I hope they try him as a juvenile because that's how he came across, like a young, lost soul.

Anyways that's my long winded way of saying I agree its ridiculous to blame it on music when it is more likely a bad home life or being bullied or mental illness or all three. If anything music probably helps, it makes people feel like they're connected to something

NRA types are happy to talk about 3d printers and making plastic guns at home. From what I understand they are pretty accurate and it's their long term plan. because despite all evidence to the contrary they think their "rights" will be gone. Detectors don't do much.

And rather then accept that the gun culture allows people to find guns they say it's all fake. Even if you personally do not agree with their motive, even if you yourself think you are special and more entitled to a gun it does not change the fact that "freedom" means it's not hard to find a weapon.

I don't think pro gun people have any empathy. All they know is how to be selfish and cruel. Something like this is just an excuse to spout the same old Trump nonsense. "A leftist did this" for example. The people who tend to not like guns? "now is not the time for politics only thoughts and prayers" fuck you we only have 2 weeks until the next one and I think you know that as well as I. There is never a time in America when no one has died from a gun in a while. And if there was that itself would be your justification for no gun laws. After all where is the problem?

They are so delusional they can not even accept what their culture is. It used to be "but I don't misuse guns" but so many shootings happen their only copping mechanism is to deny. To say it's all a conspiracy against them.

You need to take a serious look at yourself in the mirror if you still think it's acceptable to own a gun.

I saw a mind baffling doc about the 'batman killer' who happily (i only now think and say) survived.
There are strong indications he acted on his disturbing thoughts because of the wrong medication. He even seemed to have expressed his own concerns about that before the shooting to his psychiatrist. Who increased the dose.
Soon after i heard about that shooting in the news I wished him dead. Now not so much. He seems a victim too.

 

Mel, on my FB crime page (several of them lol) they have shown these Instagram "talks" or statements that young man posted prior to him deciding to kill his father for the keys to the car and then go shoot up the elementary school. The conversations he had with others (some in other countries it seems) reflect he planned well ahead of time what he was going to do and that he wanted to see them (little young elementary children) "hemmed in a corner with no where to go"...(I tried to quote but couldn't get the thing to copy my link) so my quote may not be exactly right BUT that is certainly the gist. He "hoped" to "kill at least 50 or 60 but was really hoping for 150". smh and WTF

I did (PAST TENSE) feel a bit of sympathy for him but after reading the plans he posted via social media - and of course he was encouraged! :-( - my sympathy went directly out the window. He even stated somewhere in his mish-mash of plans about getting out of prison/jail by the time he was 18...so that shows (to me) the degree of his planning and that he gave serious thought to all of this.

He may be a juvenile but I would be scared to death for EVERYBODY around him if he is tried as a juvenile, and say even let out when he is 21. If he is capable of such end-game (evil) planning at this point in his rather young life, there is truly no telling what he would and could do at an older age.

I realize he didn't have an ideal home life, far from it. However many people have fucked up young lives that don't plan to kill, and then go to an elementary school to carry out the worst of plans. The fact that he posted these plans really bothers me greatly and I wish something could be done to punish those that so encouraged him, but I have NO hopes or thoughts that will ever happen.

He wrote like a 30 page confession... if you haven't read it, I think you'll find it interesting.

What would you propose after all this gets passed into law and then there are a few more mass shootings within a year later.

 

Asmo, You know what, I'm not buying any of that. First of all, I think his attorney coached him in to saying that bullshit about the meds. Second, everything that orange haired motherfucker did prior to and the actions that were executed that night were all premeditated (including dying his stupid head orange). Third, he consciously purchased the gear, the weapons and ammunition, he knew exactly where he wanted to be and how to get access into the theatre, etc. and as soon as the law shows up he quickly puts his weapons on the ground and puts his hands up. Of all times for cops to accidentally shoot a suspect, why it didn't happen at that moment, was actually pretty disappointing. I definitely don't feel sorry for that ass clown, over some psychological issues with his meds. People that lose thier minds over anything and go berserk and kill people, lose credibility on the grounds of premeditation.

 

Eric, I'm not gonna extensively discuss the batman killer in this thread, but the documentary seemed to prove he tried to warn people in time that he was going batshit crazy on those meds, and was afraid to commit an actual act of mass murder. Maybe try to find it.
I'm also not advocating anything in his favor regarding his punishment, I was just pointing out how useful it could be to look into it in order to determine causes. Because if it really would be a particular kind of med in even and only 2 cases, it would be priceless info and prevent another pointless act of (mass) murder
