After the eighth school shooting in seven weeks – some gun control proposals

I'm on a gun forum and a survivalist forum. While it's a good place to glean info from, itit's rather boring otherwise.

 

The only people I feel the need to protect myself from is crazy right-wingers. Although if I lived in a high crime rate area, I'd definitely want protection from hooligans.

 

You have to say "assault STYLE weapons" or gun nuts will act like you don't know what you're talking about. Or "semi-automatic, high-powered rifles that use detachable magazines to hold the bullets."

 

Who are the victims at these school shootings? Students, teachers, coaches, and administrators. They should all be armed. Perhaps we should pass out guns to them as they enter the schools.

Sometimes, like in the Texas church shooting, it was a neighbor who shot the shooter. So everyone in the vicinity of the school should be armed with at least AR-15s -- perhaps everyone within a 1/2 mile radius of the school.

The police and security should all carry M-16s because they need more firepower than everybody else.

That should pretty much solve the problem.

Well, I sure hope they have our best interests at heart.

Well if you live within arm-reaching distance of a dispatch station, you’re very fortunate if you’re ever in trouble.

The average time it takes for police to arrive for most people is 15 minutes. Where I live, it’s 30+ minutes. Not to worry though, they’ll be there in time to chalk your body’s outline.

 

See, this is why this debate never gets anywhere. Pointless hyperbole and putting words into my mouth.

Now, if you had asked a mature question like, what gun do I feel is adequate my self defense, I would have answered with something like a Ruger LC9 or Glock 26.

But having one of those in my purse in case I walk down the wrong alley, go to the wrong movie or church service, or dealing with an intruder seems to worry a lot of people. You appear to be one of them.

Why - because kids are getting murdered at school at a rate that’s unacceptable to me.

 

Not by women with concealed carry permits who have 9mm in their purses. They're being murdered by psychotics with access to military-grade hardware. That's not acceptable to anyone.

 

Because you think they're the weapons most used by mass shooters and get really agitated when I bring up Ar-15s..

 

1. Let’s onky allow women to carry guns. I can compromise on that

2. Lots of people are 100% unwilling to discuss any gun control at all - including allowing psychotics access to military grade hardware

 

What about psychotic women? How on Earth will we know the difference in them by site?

 

Discrimination based on gender won't fly in the US.

If that's true, those people are total morons and their opinions shouldn't even be counted in a debate like this.
