Its not ignored that there are gun owners like you who mainly own and use them for sport. Its not talked about as much simply because they're not seen as the problem.
When you try to point out that the discussion is focussed on the problematic gun owners and dubious aspects of gun culture and if we could please stop it because there are gun owners like you too, it seems you're the one missing a critical point: its not about you or gun owners like you. Gun owners like you are not even under the risk of being affected a lot by improved gun control. Yes, the AR15 might get banned, but thats it. And its not because of some libtard agenda, but because your fellow members in society feel that enough kids have been killed with it.

You're equating the importance of you having an AR15 for sport with the importance of stopping or limiting mass shootings carried out with them, and go at preposterous lenghts to validate that. You imply that without such guns such massacres and the amount of deaths would happen anyway. This is highly arguable to put it mildly. Anyone with a brain realizes the chance is already reduced with limited access. Let alone with a complete ban on that gun.

Heres one exception. I was at a sheep hunting expo in January in Reno, NV. I was talking to a young Russian guy who is a hunting guide over there. He hunts in all sorts of different countries. I asked him for a geography lesson conceding that I was a typical American, and he just No I dont care thats fine youre good.

 

Well there is a list of reciprocity states and how they recognize. I travel across state lines a LOT with my gun. I have asked this same question every chance I get. I get the same basic answer. If I have gone to the trouble to obtain a legal weapon and a legal license, and I happen to need to use that weapon to protect myself, they do everything they can to help me in the massive amounts of paperwork that will take place. I'll give the same advice to you I have gotten for decades. If they have nobody to ask questions about the shooting but you, it makes their lives much easier. Meaning don't shoot to wound. Shoot to make sure they don't need to ask any questions to the wrong person. You will be the law abiding citizen that through no negligence on your part, happened to need to defend yourself in a state that doesn't recognize the same legal license many others would, against a perpetrator that is no longer with us, but would have been legal in the next state. They can't question the dead guy in court.

 

The agenda of making a safer country where we dont have to be afraid of being shot by some maniac every time we go to the movies or a concert or school or any enclosed area?

And what of the agenda to maximize the already robust profits of the arms industry, do you have any strong feelings on that particular agenda?

 

Then what's the point of different state licenses? Why not just a federal right to carry? Eh, I guess that's off topic. But I'm going after my CCL.

 

I have not put it like I'm in a better country even once. When I said look at other civilized or western countries to get a complete picture on this subject I explicitly added that i don't mean or wish your country to become exactly like mine. I'm sorry you're being an unworthy convo partner who seemingly got nothing.

You can get a federal level carry. I had one for awhile thru work. They are $$$ and many local yocal cops wouldn't know what to do if they saw it. If you are in say Illinois and pull that out, it will eventually get your charges for illegal carry dismissed, but by then you spent a ton of time and money getting there . Some states simply don't want guns there. Read and Heed the laws where you might travel. My license has been recipricated by every state I travel in.

Yeah you kind of have more than once. Be it better or worse, your country and it's problems are not ours to solve nor are ours yours. If we could duplicate Holland, we would have already. I think I saw where your citizens rate as like the happiest in the world. It would be nice if we could say the same. But for problems you don't have, we have to solve the ones we do have.

It showed up at more mass shootings after it became a very popular firearm. It didn't become more popular because it started showing up at these horrific situations. The next very popular firearm will be the next to begin showing up at senseless shootings. It's time to consider making people less senseless.
