I think your fear of such an insignificant, fringe group stems from your irrational fear of small things. I mean, how could a small bunch of people who need a gun as a penis substitute cause you such fear? I’m not calling obsessed gunophobes weak or inadequate as an insult. It’s how I see their persistent fear as well as their coping mechanisms for it.

 

They have power become they have money. They have money because the gun manufacturers pay them to lobby on their behalf. The fringe nra is not there for its its minimal numbers of members. It’s there to promote sales.

Went to the outdoor shooting range today. Had a good time. Almost half of the people there had ARs. Half of about two dozen. Couple of females, handfull of brown skinned people out there. 'Merica, fuck yeah!

Justifications that are based on untrue claims hardly count.

Not much of a precedent. It will not prevent the Supreme Court from one day enforcing the Second Amendment. Nor will it prevent the NRA from enforcing the Second Amendment while we're waiting for the Supreme Court.

 

Prohibitions against private ownership of nukes can be justified under strict scrutiny.

Prohibitions against pistol grips cannot be justified even under rational basis review.

 

There is however an argument that the AR-15 isn't more destructive than any other semi-auto or lever-action rifle that takes detachable magazines.

That is incorrect. Such combinations do not cause any problems. They are cosmetic and harmless.

The reason is the fact that there is no justification for banning it.

Its functional aspects are no different from any other semi-auto rifle that accepts detachable magazines.
