What's Happening?

I've been in an enlightened mood for a couple of months now I feel. A few days here and there I feel like I'm slipping into depression stages but I've managed to work myself out of them. It's like that fall in bipolar just isn't getting there, usually I have a good week then an chemical imbalance throws me in the deep end. But I just haven't reached that, I feel extremely creative atm. I'm doing things. My mind is always racing still and I'm on little sleep but just lots of things to do.

 

a good test score feels good for a minute. rapping to yourself makes showers and car rides bearable for the rest of your life.

Make sure you get some rest and maintain a decent diet to balance all that out, or else you'll hit a brick wall.

 

Well rest is hard for me because my body doesn't go into shut down mode, though I have meds and tranqs to help this. One of my biggest things is not over sleeping and atm I undersleep by a mile but I refuse to let myself sleep for too long and waste my life away in a bedroom. So I only take the meds when I'm on the weekends usually after a big night sleep the hangover away and even then it may be a 12-15 hrs rest, but I wake up 10 times in all that.

 

Today Has Been A Busy One......Hit The Supermarket Big Time This Morning.......A Lot Of

Which Was For Cleaning Stuff......Finally Found A "Cobweb Telescopic Brush" So I Can Get The

Pesky Little Buggers On The Cathedral Ceilings......Then De-Webbed The Veranda's......And

Cleaned Every Window Inside And Out.......As I Sit Here I Can Still See A Fly Spot Or Two............

But Bugger Them, My Arms Are Aching......It's 5-10pm...And My Body Is Screaming Out For A Wine......

I had a second phone interview yesterday for an awesome firm. This would be a significant promotion for me but the catch? The guy sounds like an insane micromanager. To the point where he was telling me about how he fired all these people (which I thought was inappropriate) and I believe he sets his staff up for failure, tbh.

I’m supposed to hear from him in a few weeks and I was so excited from the first interview but after yesterday, not so much. Idk. Take the leap and hope for the best?

 

I turned down a job once because I didn't like the guy I would have worked for. He struck me as a workaholic who expected the same from his staff. That was not for me. Sometimes you have to go with what feels right.

 

This is true and my gut is confused lol I think I’m blinded by the money being offered but there’s a cost. I got the sense after talking with him that he is not a good communicator and has unreasonable expectations. To fire your whole staff pretty much is a reflection on him not them lol They all didn’t measure up? Riiight lol Thanks for your advice!

This exactly. Except I'm not extremely extremely creative right now. And some days, I feel like I'm losing my mind (or well, probably never had it) because I get to a point in a project and then I'm like, 'now what?' Or 'how do I say this?' And then I'm like stumped for days. Not sure if it's like ADD in there too or if that's just the extent of my brainpower. But it seems to be happening more often, that and me forgetting and/or losing things. Maybe it's just more often because I'm thinking faster. I dunno.

Oh and the sleep thing. Yea, it's rough. I've a forced bedtime (sleep and wake) and that helps. But I toss and turn and sometimes ill just lay awake, usually with some anxiety at this point. Will probably have to talk about a sleep aid next time I see the doctor. At least for the bad days or like when I've an important meeting the next day. (Seems my sleep is always the worst then)

 

My current manager set off alarm bells in my interview by complaining about staff, I took the job anyways and my gut instinct turned out right. Management here is horrible.

But if you think the job could be a jumping off point for bigger and better things eventually it might be worth it anyways

 

That’s the thing, really. Do I take the leap and just see how it turns out? I’m just sadly surprised that he morphed into a diff person from the first to second interview. I should stop being surprised.

 

Give it a shot, D. He sounds like he has trust issues, but not saying that there are awful bosses out there too. It's an opportunity to make more money, take it. He might have said those things also to see how you would react. Get used to working with different types of personalities, it will help you be stronger and well adversed when you fullfil positions where you have to manage other folks. Hope for the best.

 

I think I could have slept all day.

I have to do better on bedtimes.

The cat has to be at the neuter place at 7:30 Thursday morning. That'll be a change for me.
