"CNN previously reported that after the departure of lawyer John Dowd from the team, five large law firms passed on the opportunity to represent Trump.

Well-known Washington lawyers cited several reasons for declining to join the President's team, CNN reported in March, citing multiple sources familiar with their decisions. Among them, Trump appears to be a difficult client and has rebuked some of his lawyers' advice. He's perceived as so politically unpopular he may damage reputations rather than boost them. Lawyers at large firms fear backlash from their corporate clients if they were to represent the President. And many want to steer clear of conflicts of interest that could complicate their other obligations."

Even red states feel the brunt of Trump's ACA sabotage campaign

"Some background is probably in order. Over the course of several months, GOP officials in Iowa crafted an ambitious series of reforms to help stabilize its state insurance market, taking advantage of a provision in the ACA – known among health care wonks as Section 1332 waivers – that allows states to come up with state-specific modifications to the law.

The catch is, federal officials have to sign off on the changes. Iowa Republicans probably thought their ally in the White House would side with them, but they thought wrong.

The trouble apparently started when the Wall Street Journal reported in late August on Iowa’s changes. It was soon after that the article crossed the president’s desk, prompting Trump to personally direct HHS to reject the Hawkeye State’s proposed reforms.

What’s more, Iowa’s not alone. State officials in Oklahoma – one of the nation’s reddest red states, which Trump won by 36 points – spent months on a market stabilization plan of their own. The state submitted its waiver request on time, but the Trump administration didn’t respond until after the deadline had passed.

Oklahoma’s top health official responded with a rather angry letter to Trump administration officials, explaining, among other things, that their failure to act will cause consumers in the Sooner State to pay higher premiums."

 

Like he did concerning the damaging effects of tariffs on farmers, an expected comment by Trump would be that the people of Oklahoma and Kansas are true patriots who are willing to take punches on the chin in the short run so that he can (supposedly) make healthcare better in the long run for them which, to Trump, requires sabotaging Obamacare and thwarting any efforts by states to try to minimize the damage from the sabotage.

 

Negotiating an end to a criminal investigation sounds like bribery and obstruction of justice.

Cohen's own lawyer just said he expects an indictment in 90 days!

 

This tells me Rudy will take Trump's money and soak up some TV attention...and watch the downfall along with a blue wave.

 

Bridenstine confirmed. He's not qualified for the position which, by Trump standards, means he's qualified.

Trump has a preference for people from Oklahoma.

Mueller dismantled the Gambino crime family. He knew how to use members to testify against John Gotti and bring him down.

Trump is a crybaby compared to the mob that Mueller had to deal with.

And he said he's surprised he didn't catch on to the fact that Barron was actually Trump himself.

"When I recently rediscovered and listened, for first time since that year, to the tapes I made of this and other phone calls, I was amazed that I didn't see through the ruse: Although Trump altered some cadences and affected a slightly stronger New York accent, it was clearly him," journalist Jonathan Greenberg wrote in a column published Friday in the Washington Post."

 

I dubbed it 'comic relief' to disinguish it from real news. The state of affairs of DC politics today is making it difficult to distinguish satire from reality.
