And I would venture a guess that No Democrat will care that Obama knew the Russians were meddling in elections, before Trump even said he was running for president, and did nothing about it. And I would venture to guess that no Democrat will ever consider that Obama oversaw the largest transfer of wealth to the rich in history, during his presidency. He bailed out lending organizations that purposely sold and covered up bad loans, meanwhile allowing them to take properties in foreclosures by the millions, getting them for pennies on the dollar, while offering a "settlement to Predatory Lending victims pittance for payouts. And sending how many of the bank execs to prison as a result? What were the fines imposed by him? And I would venture a guess that NO Democrat would ever look at Obama's War On Drugs to have failed. Lets hear a Liberal say that YES a war on Opiods is needed in this country and we need that to be won. Let's hear a liberal applaud that some gun control measures have passed under Trumps administration. Lets hear a liberal say that some Muslims want to kill us and should be stopped from coming here, to make it easier for them to do so. As long as CNN and MSNBC don't cover all the news, and only show the liberal point of view, they will continue to lead the sheep to slaughter. Just like a Republican new agency does.
Here's a Psychology Today article about five key traits of Trump supporters, for what it's worth. The five identified traits of typical Trump supporters: 1. Authoritarian Personality Syndrome. They have a complete obedience to authority. They view society as a hierarchy and fear anyone outside of their own group often expressing intense hatred and fear. 2. Social dominance orientation. Within the hierarchical structure they perceive certain groups above others, hence a vertical hierarchy. Those on top must always dominant those below. 3. Prejudice. Trump repeatedly uses disparaging words against various races and religions. This has been a Republican tactic since Nixon's “southern strategy.” 4. Intergroup contact. Trump's white supporters have very little contact with other racial or religious groups. 5. Relative deprivation. Many Trump supporters feel they are being unfairly deprived of jobs or income. It's a relative perception not a real one as most Trump supporters have a median income of $72,000. The median income for the entire U.S. in 2016 was $57,230 to $59,039.
Well, he is a Republican, just like Rosenstein, and just like that other one I the New York office who is looking into Cohen who is reported to have donated $26 million to some Ukrainian after Hannity gave him $10 dollars.
You're just making this shit up. You think McCain or Romney would have given back to the little guys? Really? You think that's what Trump is doing now? Remember the right was screaming about freeing up the market, deregulating everything, and Libertarianism was suddenly inexplicably popular? You think that might have been a reaction to the regulations he put forward, regulations that were designed to protect people from another episode? Now the right has totally flipped on all of the free market bullshit, suddenly it's all about tariffs that punish the rest of the world for taking advantage of poor innocent America... but also tax cuts for corporations-- not even corporations that are going to be relevant in a few decades, but shit like coal and oil (while punishing their much cleaner, much more efficient competitors in alternative energy). Why? Well, because U.S. motherfucking A (literally just that, as that is the only thought that these people are actually comfortable with having)! Protectionism is the exact opposite of what the RWNJs thought they wanted up until the point Trump became a candidate. Wow... smart people. I agree that Obama was too soft on the predators... they should have been persecuted. But is that something he seriously could have sanctioned? If he dismantled the banks, destabilized the economy with a series of high-profile prosecutions... what would have happened to investor's faith in the US? In the middle of a fucking economic meltdown caused by Bush-era free market bullshit, it would have deepened the crisis much further. At the very least, Obama tried to prevent it from happening again by regulating that behavior. Trump has already undone all of that, btw. He is destroying America by prioritizing its worst, stupidest, ugliest impulses and rejecting all reason. And his drooling fangirls are so happy about it, because they respond to him being 'tough' as that's all they really understand. They think they can 'do it on their own' because they are oblivious to how weak and stupid they really are. Obama wasn't apathetic about the opioid crisis... are you seriously suggesting that 'the left' is defending people's rights to use hard drugs? From where exactly are you getting this total fucking bullshit? Obama's new moves to fight opioid, heroin abuse epidemic - CNN On the other hand, destroying their access to health care while beefing up the police state is an expensive fucking waste that has nothing to do with helping anyone. He took a page from the Duterte playbook on that one-- when in doubt, get violent! Always nice to see a country that is supposed to be leading the world following the example of a vicious third world dictator who has ruined his own country with violence and legalized vigilante murder. Trump wants a new war on drugs Regardless, none of this has anything to do with the baffling degree of blind devotion that Trump cultists have to an obviously incompetent fool, ridiculous conspiracy theories, denialism, stupidity and hate. Hey, you know a recent study showed that the reason Trump won is essentially because white people are afraid of losing their privileged status in society? THAT is what he represents-- everything that is ugly, backwards and wrong with America. A reaction to the fact that a black man won and then they tried to push their luck by running a woman right after. It was nice to think that racism was finally over and everyone could stop nagging the white people about it, but sexism?? What's next? A homo in the oval office? Status threat, not economic hardship, explains the 2016 presidential vote I like to tell myself that these people are just too old to open their minds anymore, and that they will die soon and Trumpism will disappear forever... but it won't, because people care less about not being ignorant than they do about getting what they have been programmed to want. FFS everyone knows that third parties don't stand a chance and the only way to prevent sociopaths like Trump, capitalist douchebags like Romney, nutcase 'visionaries' like Ron Paul, Christian fascists like Pence... is to vote for the Dems. It's not ideal, but it's the best anyone can do. And if you seriously support Trump at this stage, then even though you probably can't understand subtle distinctions, maybe focus all the brainpower you can muster and see if you can figure out the difference between recognizing the lesser of two evils (Obama, Hillary) and being oblivious to reality (actually believing Trump about anything).
I'm not making up anything. That whole housing/mortgage crisis got started by Clinton. The banks made HUGE fortunes from it. Bailing them out to save the economy has merit. But punish those that were running that fiasco. They got stupidly rich. And walked away from the ruins. I'm not a Trump fan. But I also know how frustrating it is to watch the left sell our country out. I do think putting our country back on a track that we can compete in the world again is important. Somebody has to do it! Trump has almost hit a key economic target And I think all the pessimist on the left that doubted him even used the calculation that unless he could reach 3% that he could never hope to pay down the deficit his tax cuts were creating. Guess what, he is .1% away from it already, and the benefits of the tax cuts haven't even seen their potential yet. So yeah he's an asshole. Think how well things could be going if he wasn't. That's because its the pathway that is favorable, not the asshole we have to put up with.
When Trump was running at the mouth for a half hour on FOX two days ago, he told all listeners that Cohen represented him in a tiny little bit of matters. Today I read that he wants to personally review each document that the FBI has taken from Cohen. Just contrast the two...
The Trump administration will not protect Grizzly bears in the Rocky Mountains any longer. They already told Wyoming the state could manage the bears, which most likely mean hunting will be allowed.
Truth be told I’m a libertarian (I’m not a fan of big government) and I come to this site to get away from politics. Enough said. TGIF!
Trump selected people like MIck 'The Knfe' Mulvaney and Steve Mnuchin to head agencies that are supposed to be protecting people. Those who dislike such unsavory people who got rich by ripping off the working class without being prosecuted should be outraged at Trump for appointing them, yet they think Trump is helping out the little guy because he bangs porn stars. The Worst of Wall Street: Meet Donald Trump’s Finance Chairman Will Trump’s supporters notice the greedy excesses of a top campaign hire? By Peter Dreier May 10, 2016 The Worst of Wall Street: Meet Donald Trump’s Finance Chairman
I thought so too, but your post was a tad confusing. I avoid the sex forums because, well, never mind.
As I recall, Obama is no longer President. I think Trump is now occupying the Oval Office. What is he doing to assure that the Russians won't do the same thing in the 2018 elections? During the 2016 campaign, he openly called for the Russians to find Hillary's alleged missing emails. His reaction after taking office was denial and refusal to impose sanctions, until Congress (majority Republican) forced his hand by passing a sanctions law. Then he lagged in fully implementing it before the mandatory deadlines, drawing criticism from lawmakers. Only after the Mueller indictments of members of Russian troll farms organizing pro-Trump rallies, and after the brazen Russian poisoning of two defecters in the UK, did Trum impose meaningful sanctions, probably to avoid further political damage for not doing so. But you prefer to talk about Obama's transgressions in not taking action when he learned about the Russian interference during the 2016 campaign. He says he didn't do so because he feared it would be perceived as an effort on his part to interfere with the election. Mind you, neither Obama nor the Democrats profited from the Russian interference. Trump and the Republicans did. What would have happened if Obama had invoked sanctions during the campaign" I can hear Fox, Breitbart and InfoWars screaming about the "deep state" plot to discredit Republicans. I can see the snarky comments which you and your ilk would be making in internet forums like these. I think Obama made the right decision, Trump made the wrong one, and you Republicans have a lot of chutzpah in bringing up the matter. The largest transfers of wealth in history were during the Republican administrations of Reagan, the Bushs, and Trump, when massive tax cuts financed by borrowing transferred wealth from the middle class to the 1% of the 1%. Reagan: The Great American Socialist Each year since the recession, the top 1% have made more than the cost of all U. S. social programs--over 2.3 trillion per year--Robin Hood in reverse.5 Facts About How America Is Rigged for a Massive Wealth Transfer to the Rich. . As I remember it, this banking crisis happened at the end of the G.W. Bush Administration, when Treasury Secretary Paulsen of banking background informed us that if the country didn't bail out the banks our economy would collapse. While the election campaign was still in full swing, the Republican Congress responded with a $700 billion bank bailout bill on October 3, 2008 based on Paulsen's proposals. Note the date. Obama hadn't been elected yet ! President Bush signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 into law. And you're griping about Obama. It was the Bush Administration's policies of lax regulation that was responsible for this crisis. The TARP program was an alternative to global depression. I think we should have thrown the book at the bankers, but to talk about Obama's failings there without mentioning those of Bush and the Republicans shows a warped perspective. If my memory serves me correctly, the phrase "War on Drugs" was coined in 1971 during the Nixon Administration to describe a program that top Nixon aide John Ehrlichman admitted was designed to get the public to associate pot with hippies and heroin with African-Americans. A Brief History of the Drug War The war massively escalated during the Reagan Administration, as a result of which the number of people behind bars for nonviolent drug law offenses increased from 50,000 in 1980 to over 400,000 by 1997.G.W Bush allocated more money to the war than ever, to no avail The "war" mentality was the problem. President Obama supported several successful policy changes – such as reducing the crack/powder sentencing disparity, ending the ban on federal funding for syringe access programs, and ending federal interference with state medical marijuana laws. And now we have Sessions. But you want to talk about Obama's failures?.I take it you see some sense in the futile efforts of the Republican Administrations. What kind of "war" do you have in mind? More heavy law enforcement or a health-based approcah. I'd support the latter. I'm for stopping anybody from coming here to kill us. That's why rigorous vetting is necessary. The haphazard ban on certain countries, while excluding Saudi Arabia and other breeding grounds for radical wahabi/Salafi Islamism, makes no sense. That's why it's important to get news from a variety of professional sources, as opposed to the strident propaganda of Fox, Breitbart, and InfoWars.
You can pick any arbitrary point in history and say that was when it started, but the truth is the crisis was caused by a long series of actions that go back to Reagan and the shift towards deregulation and the free market. Clinton was essentially following in his footsteps, and played a large role in pushing the Dems to the right. But so what? This means that Obama was just as bad? This means that voting Democrat means that you support actions taken by Bill Clinton in the 90s? This means Trump is a good guy? What point are you even trying to make here? Bush was the culmination of over 2 decades of terrible economic decisions, but the very least you can say that they didn't know what was happening. Trump/the GOP simply haven't learned a thing or don't care... they are deregulating, defunding and tax-cutting simply because it's what they do... there is no rationale behind any of it. Did you read this part? The business cycle develops over a long arc, with federal policy set by the White House often a minor factor, at most. The Federal Reserve’s monetary policy typically affects the economy more than any president’s actions. And policy actions that do matter often play out over years, with consequences that sometimes materialize after the president who put them into motion are gone from office. Or this? Moody’s Analytics forecasts GDP growth will hit 3% even in 2018, which would let Trump claim credit for reaching his target for a full calendar year, not just a 12-month, quarter-to-quarter period. But Moody’s and other forecasters say growth could fall back after that, as the Federal Reserve raises interest rates and additional government debt, issued to finance the tax cuts, begins to crowd out private investment. A recession could even strike by 2020 or 2021. Trump should claim credit for good times while he can. Any time you cut taxes, you will see a boost in the economy... but it is only a temporary boost. It also happened under W... and then it all came crashing down. You didn't read your own article... or if you did, you didn't understand it. Giving rich people more money isn't the same thing as stabilizing the economy, or producing actual growth. Tax cuts are essentially the same thing as handouts for the rich-- and the money is coming from people who need it the most (the poor) or who will do the most good with it (things like NASA climate change research, education, and alternative energy). It's the same free market bullshit that assumes corporations are our saviors and they will always find a way to spend their money for the good of mankind. You end up getting a bunch of speculators who think that the tax cuts are going to lead to great things and start putting more money into the markets... followed by the revelation that oops, sorry, they just used that money to give the CEOs higher salaries... followed by 'oh well, as long as everyone THINKS the tax cuts will work, they will continue to invest... hahahahaha!'... followed by crisis. Every time this happens we end up in a parallel reality where the wrong people pretend to believe the big lie for the sake of the returns, and when it's finally exposed they make sure that they get out first. The fact that people are actually falling for this bullshit for the second time is unbelievable, but as long as people keep supporting the GOP, we won't have a choice.
Trump Will Do ‘Fox & Friends’ Interviews Every Month, Kellyanne Conway Says, Fulfilling Michael Avenatti’s Wish By Jason Le Miere 4/27/18 at 9:33 AM Trump will do "Fox & Friends" interviews every month, Kellyanne Conway says, fulfilling Michael Avenatti’s wish excerpt: “The president was able to cover so much ground with you yesterday and appreciated the platform because it connects him with the American people,” Conway added. “Not just on Fox News, but it really was the buzz around the globe yesterday in large part.” The interview dominated news headlines for much of the day. Trump’s comments about Cohen and his claim that his attorney only handled a “tiny, tiny fraction” of his legal work was almost instantly used by prosecutors in a federal case in New York to argue against Cohen’s assertion that a huge amount of documents should be protected by attorney-client privilege.
