Every time I change the litter in my litter box, my cat seems to instantaneously take a huge dump. WHY. Can't I enjoy a few minutes of smell-free litter?

Oh, Lenny The Cat does this all the time. He gets impatient while I'm changing the litter, pacing back and forth through the space the litter box occupies. Once I put it back down he hops in, digs around a few seconds and takes a squat. [IMG]

    Are you listening?

Cook some pasta to your liking. For us real people, that's al dente. But, if al dente is nine minutes, cook it for seven. Strain and put aside.

Next, oil up a cast iron skillet and heat on medium high while seasoning a sirloin with olive oil, salt, and pepper. After 7-8 minutes, drop there sirloin in the skillet and add a few tablespoons of butter. As the butter melts, spoon it on top of the sirloin, basting it. After a couple of minutes, flip the sirloin and cook another couple of minutes (Literally two minutes, but longer depending on how you like your steak cooked. Also depends on thickness). You should be getting a nice caramelized "crust" on your steak, while keeping the inside juicy and tender. Once the steak is cooked to your liking, put it on a cutting board.

Heat some oil in a sauce pan and add minced garlic. Whisk together an egg, some heavy cream, shredded parmesan, pecorino and romano cheeses. Pour that into your pan of hot oil and garlic and add a dash--I mean a dash--of nutmeg. Add your cooked pasta to this and toss for a minute or two. Plate your pasta and sauce and top with thinly-sliced strips of your sirloin.

Drizzle the whole thing with balsamic vinegar and top with gorgonzola crumbles. Pair with your favorite red blend.

    You're welcome.

    Good Morning...

I've been up for a little while, having coffee and internet.

I couldn't sleep this morning because I was hungry so now that coffee's done I should go cook something.

I was thinking, lying in bed this morning.

It looks like life isn't going to give me my #1 joy, which is a love relationship. The love I've carried for the last 12 years has finally failed me.

I thought about what my #2 joy would be and decided that what would make me next happiest for the rest of my life would be to have a clean, streamlined house.

    Marvelous.

That's down to me. That's something that I can control. If I desire it enough then I can have it.

It will be alot of work.

I detest house work and this place shows it.

Also, it will be more than physically challenging.

My life is a funny (weird not comical) thing.

I hate the lessons it tries to teach me.

Depression has caused me to let things go around the house; yet, the state my house is in causes me more depression.

What it comes down to is me learning that no one is coming to save me. That's hard for a girl who grew up with a Cinderella complex.

    For those who don't know...

Hubby and I have had an open marriage for the past 14 years. It was meant to be centered on our relationship but for reasons I won't go into right now, he and I haven't been intimate for 10 years.

I had a relationship that began 12 years ago. It had ups and downs. He was also in an open marriage but his wife had issues with the way he loved me.

At one point, I officially broke up with him because of it. I sent him back to his wife. I immediately regretted it and I had a nervous breakdown. I remember that I cried every day for 9 months.

They moved farther away from me. He and I eventually mended things but it was difficult to see each other much due to finances and distance.

After a while he and his wife separated and filed for divorce. He moved in with another couple. I was seeing him less and less. One thing led to another and he and the woman moved away from her boyfriend after he became violent.

At first they moved in with his cousin and were supposedly living as "friends".

Then he and the woman got their own place and were a couple.

I still held out hopes that once he was free of his marriage and had worked through things that he and I'd one day end up back together and that we'd stay together forever.

Early last week, I learned that he and the woman he'd moved in with are getting married next month. I don't know the details but I suspect that she's pregnant. She is 20 years younger than him; making her 30 years younger than me!

The last thing that he told me when I learned he was finally divorcing his wife was that he was never getting married again, lol.

Ha ha ha. The joke's on me. I've been a fucking fool.

    It's like this now.

Sorry Aeri. You dont need him

I'm a big believer that keeping a clean and orderly environment can help keep depression and anxiety at bay. Once you do one big clean up, create a daily ritual to keep your house clean. Having a ritual can be very calming and it makes cleaning easy because you never let messes pile up to the point where they become overwhelming

    Aeri
You've shared your life like this once before to all of us. I read it then and can remember how it hurt you.

It sucks that the hurting still continues to haunt you to this day.

Aeri, you're tough as pitbull and have the kindness of a kitten. I know you will find the balance in your life now that you have some final closure to the relationship you wanted but was denied.

Your home is your safe place. As you fix and rebuild your home, you will also fix and rebuild yourself with proud feelings that comes with it.

I will continue to hope for the best for you, your hubs, your children and your grand children. They give you happiness, they will help you get though this emotonal time......

And we'll all help too Aeri.
    In any way we can.....
