Well, that case I think would have been the baker vs the Colorado commision, not the baker vs the two gay guys But i agree with all that. 5 years later reality hits Watch how much press this DOESNT get. How is 7-2 narrow anyway
Walk into a Jewish/Muslim bakery and ask to have a cake made of bacon.. See how well that turns out for ya.
The Supreme Court ruled that the business can refuse to bake the cake...but it appears the ruling is for this case only.
When signs saying "no coloreds" start popping up again, people will stop defending bigoted business owners. I say this because I'm already seeing news stories about some assholes in the Midwest wanting to try that shit. I seriously don't even understand why someone would turn away a paying customer anyway, from a business standpoint. They're not asking the baker to join them in bed, just make them a fucking dessert.
For the same reason a gay person would rather not by a Chicken Sandwich at Chik-Fil-A. Businesses as well as people have principles that matter over a buck. It's just a fucking chicken sandwich. I've decided to adopt the same approach. I recently stopped using a catering company that we used to do our big shot lunches during our conferences. I also canceled their lunch trucks coming to our site. Ordinarily I wouldn't let politics stand in the way of getting good service from a good company. But this appears to be part of the new battle lines being drawn.
It should not, and is not, that way. The immortal declaration that we’re all created equal is literally the foundation of the country. It’s specifically written into the Declaration of Independence.
So if I open a bakery and refuse service to straight, white males for being straight, white males, you'd support me?
It's your private bakery. It isn't a government funded one . You should have the right as that business owner to serve or not serve whom you choose. Would you wish to refuse service to a known pedophile?
This is getting totally absurd! I remember a story about a bakery in France during ww2 when they put arsenic to the bread dough and all the soldiers died.
What is also written in the Constitution is freedom of speech, assembly, and property rights. If you don't like the views of a certain business then go buy somewhere else. There's a wonderful thing called the internet where you can buy 90% of what you want.
As a right, yes. However I only fit into two of those catagories. I'm a straight male but I'm not white.
