Trump believes the Canadians burned down the white house in 1812 (Canada was not a country then) and thinks they are still a threat. Is he aware that they declared war on Japan before we did because of Pearl Harbor? Or is he aware that on 9/11 they opened their air space for us and told the UN that action needed to be taken to protect America? Canada and America are long time pals. We speak the same language and it's not uncommon for them to drive an hour or two over our border to shop. We have the good tax and prices I guess. It's so insulting to say they are an enemy. We have a few Canadian supports of him on hip forums. Wonder how they feel about this.
Am I the only one who has noticed there has been no mention of North Korea's human rights abuses ? And Frump (thats a typo but i'm gonna leave it) said he expects he and Kimmy will have a great relationship The President of the US has befriended a brutal dictator and alienated the mild mannered canadian PM and not many people seem concerned with this
Well, to be fair, not mentioning human rights abuses when courting a potential ally isn't exactly new. Saudi Arabia and China immediately spring to mind.
True but two things: Those countries make us money so in capitalist society anything else will be overlooked as long as profits come. China in particular's "human rights" usualy are the kind of stuff American unions would stop. So the average right wing businessman is fine with their labor conditions. They censor the internet too, so like net neutrality. China may be communist but they are remarkably right wing capitalist in that there is an upper class that exploits the underclass yet the people believe they live in equality and the best goverment in the world. Neither of those countries has made serious threats about nuking America.
Yes, yes. This is all true. The US doesnt give a fuck about human rights if there is no monetary benefit And just a quick reminder of this gem
Trump vows to get even with Trudeau. It's fortunate the Trump made friends with Kim Jong-un. Together, the two will keep the world safe from those dangerous, bullying Canadians. Trump Says Justin Trudeau's G-7 Comments Will 'Cost Him A Lot Of Money' Hayley Miller June 12, 2018 Trump Says Justin Trudeau's G-7 Comments Will 'Cost Him A Lot Of Money'
Kim finally got recognition as a world leader from a U.S. president. A first for North Korea. No other American president has ever met with a NK leader for precisely that reason. They didn't want to support a NK regime. Kim is now "friends" with Trump. Trump thinks he's very talented. Kim threatened to nuke the U.S. just a little while ago. Remember Kim is the guy who executed Ri Yong Jin for dozing off during a meeting. He used antiaircraft guns to do so. Same method for five others....anti aircraft guns. He poisoned his half brother. A deputy defense minister and another military officer were killed by mortar fire. An officer that worked with Kim's uncle (who was also killed) was killed with a flamethrower. And remember Otto Warmbier? Etc. Trump will lessen sanctions on NK. End military exercises with SK and would like to withdraw all our troops. He said they are “very provocative” (you see we're the bad guys here). This shocked South Korea, Japan, and yes the U.S. In return the U.S. got.....let me think...we got.....um.....nothing.
I just saw.....we get to look for our Korean War dead that North Korea has refused to surrender for 68 years. And the war hasn't officially ended yet.
Disappointing that you'd choose to go full Monty political as opposed to simple stating the actual facts of the case. My question is not answered by this response of yours. Even with the cheerleaders!
So far Trump has not had any of his relatives or in-laws executed, with machine guns. It's a "Peace" prize, not a "pieces" prize.
The colonists in the original 13 divisions were referred to as "Americans" well before the US was founded. It's not such a stretch to call colonists in Canada "Canadians". This is an odd straw to be latching onto. While I'm not a fan of Trump in the long run, it's amusing how many rush to call a billionaire "stupid" these days. What's really funny though is how easily so many people are drawn into these kinds of mock "controversies". Covfefe comes to mind.
Billionaires can be stupid about lots of things. Maybe better to call them "focused". Might even call Trump an embarrassment. I'd call him cunning. He is a world class grifter who didn't need to pay attention in history class. Is that an excuse for ignorance? And are your saying it was the Canadian colonists who burned down the White House in 1812? I always thought it was British regulars. But hey, if a billionaire says otherwise it must be so, or doesn't really matter, eh?
In law school they teach you to keep it simple. Trump was made rich by Big Sheldon, who by the way also funded Trump senior and Kushner senior. It's a regular Medusa thing. Don't ask me how I know. I can not disclose that insider info!
Without rosters of the various regiments who invaded Washington, who can know? I personally think it was a trite "joke" on the part of Trump, if he was attempting humor. What's odd though is how many talking heads are stuck on trying to analyze it.
Those are the attributes of people that Paul Manafort desires. Manafort has a history of making money for himself by befriending dictators such as Ferdinand Marcos. In turn, Trump embraces people like Manafort and reserves a spot for them, such as campaign manager, until they've served their purpose to Trump. Then he disowns them. An article from 2016 before Manafort was arrested. Paul Manafort’s Wild and Lucrative Philippine Adventure As Ferdinand Marcos used his fortune to cling to power, he found an ally in Trump’s campaign chairman. By KENNETH P. VOGEL June 10, 2016 Paul Manafort’s Wild and Lucrative Philippine Adventure excerpt: "When Paul Manafort met Ferdinand Marcos in the 1980s, each had something the other wanted. Marcos, then in his third decade as leader of the Philippines, had developed a reputation in Washington as a stalwart ally in the fight against communism. But he was facing rising concerns about rampant corruption, plundering of public resources and human rights violations under his increasingly despotic leadership, during which Amnesty International now estimates 34,000 people were tortured and 3,240 killed. Meanwhile, Marcos amassed a fortune estimated at $10 billion, spending big on paintings by Pissarro and Manet, a fleet of private planes and helicopters and Mercedes-Benzes. Manafort, then in his 30s, was a hotshot Republican operative who had made his name helping Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, and was pioneering a new form of international political consulting. The model, which allowed him to indulge his taste for the high-life, parlayed his clout with the emergent conservative ruling class into lucrative gigs representing foreign leaders looking to buff their reputations in Washington."
