I made the choice to stop partying by choice and not through necessity.

That decision instantly turned me into a lame old fuck.

Honestly noticed the needing less sleep thing myself. It's actually one of the things I'm good with about getting older.

Noticing more silver... I'll take that over losing hair for sure.

I realized that I've probably lived for longer than I have left, and time is speeding up.

The body is not what it was, but I still have youthful optimism on a good day.

  6. I guess there's a feeling of detachment from a lot of things that used to (seem to) matter.
And a general calm acceptance of what life is and who you are.
    It's not a bad thing.

That's not quite true... It's not that you need less sleep when you get older. It's that you can't sleep properly when you get older. There's a difference.

My doctor refused to believe I could have this. Said it was highly uncommon for younger people. Sorry doc I need the weed card and it's very genetic. My grandmother was crippled from her early 50's and unable to walk at all by her 60's.

RA is pretty commonly diagnosed when people are in their 20s, but it seems alot of people, even some doctors, don't know the difference between rheumatoid arthritis (autoimmune disease) and osteoarthritis (breakdown of joints over time).

Yeah she said I have degenerative arthritis and I need some paperwork showing RA.

It was a pot clinic so she still gave me a card, she knew the deal lol. But I live in America getting real paperwork from a doctor is not cheap. So I have just self diagnoses and used weed.

Had an operation around 70, so roofing was done. Now I've lost about 30 pounds of muscle, dammit.

I don't actually ever feel "old" I got a lot of problems with my body but they don't make me feel old. I always thought I was good with technology but lately realised I'm really not. While I used to set all the clocks and TV up for my parents, for me its complicated and irritating.

Maybe losing patience is a sign of aging. I have zero patience for anything. But then also just life experience is a consequence of aging so when I day to myself "I know what to do here I've experienced this before" I'm definitely aging. Mostly for the better.

I still keep active and keep a healthy glow. Iook after myself, I'm still "younger" in appearance to my age, so they tell me. That's something. I look after my skin a lot. Maybe looking after myself for preventive measures is also a sign of aging? But then I just still wanna look good and pork some hotties so all give and take there.

when I was 11 and the doctors told me I wouldn't live to see 12. then when I was diagnosed with RA when I was 13 and told I'd be unlikely to make 20, saying 'fuck that' and going into weightlifting, then at 25 when I had my first celiac flare and lost 60 pounds over the course of a month. I've always been mentally old. at 40 the physically's starting to catch up, but I'm a stubborn old shit. I've known people that asked me why I wasn't dead yet from all the shit I've walked out of (even 2016 couldn't kill me, and it tried by infecting me with MRSA turned sepsis) I have two theories - one, that Death and I have an agreement that he can take me when I'm not able to fight anymore, or two, the Gods have a plan for me, that at this point evidently come along the lines of 'target practice'

when you're not even a teenager and they're like 'yeah, you're gonna die in a year. two at most.'.. you age fast. my mantra is 'just keep breathing.' so long as I'm still sucking air, I'm surviving. even if it's just for another minute, and Death knows I'll beat him with his own femur. I ain't done fucking around here yet, and do they really want me on the other side messing with things? one thing I notice is that as I get older I have less patience for stupidity (ignorance is different. like my gramma said 'ignorance is not knowin. stupid is knowin there's better out there and choosin to stay ignorant.' ) and less censored in what I say. give me another 20 years, and I'm really going to have shit to say. lol

actually it occurred to me, while still an embryo, that life itself would ultimately be a death sentence.
but then i thought, "oh what the hell", and gave it a try anyway.

When I had no idea who current musicians were. Like people who have apparently had hit songs on the radio for years and high school kids are shocked when I say I don't know the song. "Are you serious? That song came out 8 years ago" they say.
